Theory about HER *spoilers*

Could it be that HER is EYE? The satellite AI the old hag is talking about?

Also weird that she (the old hag) seems to talk to your mask (to HER) and talking about you as a pawn.

And her dialogue in the end with "Do you think I am just a hacker?!"creeps me out.

HER being the satellite AI fits. I can't remember where it was but HER mentions that the area use to be ruins and that you and your brother use play there. I wonder if maybe that wasn't made up for the big brother program and she was watching from orbit...

Well, besides EYE and everything, I hope HER have some human biological form, she is too hot, if HER don't have a biological form, it will be a shame.

I really liked the game and the story on it, a lot of deep things put in a silly form. Wich makes you think.

I don't think HER is exactly a vilain, she learns about mankind and is trying to make things better, at least in her point of view, playing with it.

Poppy was just a lot of meat, after all happened in the game he now have a history, he has feelings, he has a choice maybe he will even have a bigger purpose in the future...

Maybe HER is that one totally non biased neutral being (not evil but also in no way good) that maybe goes nuts in the future. Or judges about humanity for the sake of something greater. That world with its social system is pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up so EYE had to do something to change this.

I mean it also serves it that you destroy (or at least disturb) a factory which produces things like ANGELS and is involved in refining HOSTS by taking its "brain/controller" (TRAFFICKING). Have control over a huge street gang (CREEPS) and ofc kill the evil being that seems to carelessly use HOSTS (SICKSISTERS) and also disturb the use of an illegal host farm.

The intel provided by these high ranked people are also not only vital for you to find your "brother", but would also help HER to find other informations she is looking for as well. So there is still this: I only needed you for my plan. It maybe sounds cold heartet but HER said the truth. You are still just a spare part container running around and serve her plan in a good way. Still - why the part with the kill or get killed by a timer. It serves no one. Maybe HER knew that the fight which is coming would be tough so it is in fact a motivational move, but what if "PUPPY" dies - HER would not be able to finish the mission.

Is it really HER plan to take down HEAVEN?

Also I guess we all watched too many SciFi movies that we esactly know how twisted a neutral AI can be.

Yeah, this part confused me too. You could have died and the boss would have continued his rule over HEAVEN, being even more suspicious of the people around him.

What was the back up plan. She said, she tried for ages to get him.

To be honest I do think there is some goodness in her, she prizes freedom, maybe being an IA that only recently reached autonomy she not only craves that freedom but wants to free mankind as well.

You can hear her almost horrified to some stuff you witness. The whole quest of the game is not to simply kill the boss but to breach Leddie's chains and end your sub-existence as bag of spare parts.

She is not beyond harming or coercing people in the name of the 'greater' good, but funnily enough she is the only one that shows some degree of morality. She is like a more ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up Durandal(Yeah I'm old enough to remember Durandal instead of Cortana). Maybe in her own way she is protecting mankind by dismantling the schemes of those who keep mankind in shackles. Yet, it IS a grim World, and although this task might not be beyond her, I have no such hopes for Leddie.

If HER is the AI located on a Satellite then HER final words basically mean that she invited RUINER to the place where is located the interface (or maybe a server or a supercomputer) that can establish direct connect with her satellite. So she's basically invited main character to synch with eachother and communicate kinda same way that Kusanagi Motoko and Puppet master did in GitS.

at one point, she says she dropped her lens. this sounds odd as she is portrayed as a young adult/teenager and typically young adults use glasses not contact lenses. but she also says it singular, like she has one eye with a lens. I doubt it's so much physically dropping a lens, but idle talk while processing data. again, more nods to the eye sattelite theory.

also, in the database "her" is mentions she accessed heaven's secure data to find you, which is "inaccessible to regular mortals"

Oh wow...the lens part makes sense now. I'd always thought she was referring to her glasses or some sort of camera, but if she's EYE then it fits the bill.

I always thought that Hag was just kinda breaking the fourth wall and was talking to a player, but now I'm not so sure...

Remember when you hack Wizard's brain? HER says she dropped her lense and it's like the only time she ever loses focus throughout the game. I don't really believe she's an AI, but maybe she was human once but then somehow achieved quantum immortality or something?
