Best played with a gamepad or k/m?
What do you think.

I pretty much play all twin-sticks (including Helldivers, Alien Swarm, Alien Breed, Shadowgrounds, Solstice Chronicles: MIA etc.) with kb/mouse.

When i've tried those with gamepad my general impressions been you'll always have more precise movement with a gamepad and more precise aiming with a mouse (mouse PC twin-stick shooters have a crosshair on screen for mouse/kb use; and no crosshair at all for gamepad since you're more just poiinting in the gamepad's directions. So I think it boils down somewhat to which is more important in the game.

depend on you.
The game works well with both since it's a twin-stick shooter. So the best will be the one you feel more confortable with, that's it.

I'm playing with k/m and is very enjoyable :steamhappy:
that tutorial was in a very tight corridor setting with not much room - ended up using only the melee weapon as the gun was a pain to aim !

Mouse and keyboard reign supreme in this game. Controller is actually really sh|t, the game is clearly designed on M/Kb and the console ports are just forced projects by the publisher. The game was always demoed on M/Kb by the devs and the movement of the character, the ability setup and the lightning fast reactions molded around cursor control make this crystal clear.

I actually dont even know if the game is even playable on a pad at higher difficulty levels. It requires precision and speed that controllers arent capable of.

I wish I could play with my keyboard, but you can't bind the keys so... Well... ♥♥♥♥ me.

Good I read here before buying - non rebindable keys are a no-go, so if they change this (including Numpad keys) I might reconsider buying the game but as for now, nope thanks.

Gamepad, at least for me.

Hello OldSnake,

this is our #1 priority for the upcoming patch and soon we will fix it.

Be ready,
RUINERS

Yeah, it's whatever you feel most comfortable with.
Hotline Miami and Hyper Light Drifter play sort of similar to this game, and I've played those with kb+m, so I really couldn't play RUINER on a gamepad.

Then why is the official word from the devs:

Hi guys,

Thanks for posting on our discussion boards. We highly recommend playing using controller. RUINER is a twin-stick shooter, so if you have such option, connect your dual analogue stick device.

Take care,
RUINERS

And just because, if for whatever reason, you can't play on a pad at higher difficulty levels doesn't mean others can't accomplish this feat. It just means you can't.
The unmitigated gall of some people's kids never ceases to amaze me. Some people think because they can do something then everyone should be able and vice versa, if I can't do something then it must be impossible. Grow up.
