Why is Acrobat so terrible?

Not exactly new to this game - two decks left to play (Acrobat and Sorcerer) and I have died maybe four times on the first fight with Acrobat. In ten tries, I've gotten to round 4 once. Why is he so terrible? This is with item slots unlocked (not that they help on the first fight), and the Ace unlocked.

Update: I have beaten it with Acrobat, after unlocking every card upgrade and item slot for it - first deck that required that much investment.

wow..congratulations Takumashii. Acrobat is my nightmare in this game which I love. I have been playing that deck like for 2 years. I'm having problems gaining on Acrobat. I have a crown to all the others but Acrobat eludes me. Reach level 16 like two years ago and since then, nothing. It is very frustrating.

Acrobat is rough since it doesn't have good access to any defense/heal to survive the early game. Once you can get past the early phase and really push the advantage of knowing the second row with good defense items to keep yourself alive I think the mid-late game is a lot easier to deal with.
In my earlier time playing this game I considered having X-Ray glasses pretty strong and Acrobat has them for free! So it's a lot of planning and smart play. I was fortunate enough to have a great run and then almost immediately cleared Epic when I learned what to prioritize to survive the early stages.

Today I signed on and Steam deleted all my sixteen levels and scores. Have this happen to anyone else or I am the joke of gaming fate!? Everything is gone and I didn't even win Acrobat which was the last one. I guess I have to start from the beginning again. Dunno if I want to do so.

I know this reply is late, but the same thing happened to me recently. I'm guessing it had something to do with an update they did recently. From what I have seen, this update made the game quite a bit harder since it adds traits to some of the enemies on normal difficulty. I just accepted it as a loss and started over, and I'm glad I did since I was then forced to play decks I had avoided previously and learn some strategies with them. I recommend giving it another try, but if you don't want to do it all over again, that's understandable too.
