Game wont start... Opens a black screen, then closes.

When I ran the game the first time, and if I delete the Rig n Roll folder in appdata, it will open up the window letting me know I meet the requirements, then the screen turns black, flashes, and goes to the desktop... Opening the game again runs the Rig n Roll pre-loading splash screen, turns the screen black again, and back to the desktop, yet again...

I got the game to open once, I could hear different menu selections being made if I clicked or pressed buttons, but the screen was all black except for the logo on the top right, and on the bottom right, some white text would keep flashing.. I forgot what it said.

I read other posts saying this runs on Windows 10... What's going on here? I wanna give it a chance, I really like a lot of 1C's titles, and I'm a total sucker for obscure Russian and German titles.. I gotta get this to run. :(

Similarly, I get nothing at all when starting it up. Just, nothing at all happens. I wanted to play it but I guess I just threw money in the trash. Not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last. I played it when it was new but I didn't acquire it honestly. I'm trying to buy all the games I got that way but I guess I won't get to play this one again.

It sucks when these obscure games get old, because there's so little community or people who know about the game to keep it patched and in working order as operating systems change. I still can't find a fix for this, having the same issue with Independence War 1 and 2, great, unique old space sims.

Oh well, there are plenty of other obscure old gems to play. I still have a huge list to go through. Lol.

With some of the older games, they cause exceptions in a number of different DLLs, so to get it to run on a more modern machine, try running it in compatibility mode. This game is from 2010. I would recommend running with Win XP compatibility. This will not completely stop the closing but will certainly reduce it. If this is still an issue, try running from a single CPU. Most now have 4 to 8.

I have a gaming laptop I am trying to run this game on and I am suffering a lot from the game playing and then randomly closing back to desktop at weird intervals. I for one would love to get access to the source code as it should be able to patch to x64 machines which are the norm now. Even so, with Windows 7, 8 and 10, they come with x86 emulators as many programs still use the 32-bit so (in theory at least), this game should run.

I am unsure about other old games, but it may be worth trying the above suggestions with those. After all, they have 2 choices. They either will work or won't!

Hola. Yo también tenía el problema que no iniciaba. Intenté ejecutar desde la carpeta del juego y me envió un error que faltaba OpenAL32. Lo descargué e instalé y voilá
