Theatre of War 2: Kursk 1943

Crash To Desktop every single start up
Am I the only person unable to play this game anymore? Every single time I even attempt to play this game it CTD. Even after deleting all traces of the Kursk, Africa and Korea and reinstalling, I continue to have the same problem. What is the point of still continuing to sell the game on Steam if it is broken?

I'm able to play no problem. I have a ten year old computer: Windows 10, old Intel Core 2 Duo, Nvidia 9800m GTS, 8 GB ram.

In running windows 7 I found it necessary to go to Control Panel/System and Security/Find and fix problems/Run programs made for previous versions of windows; and use the tool to search for and point the program to the version appropriate for ToW2 (XP sp3 I think - or whatever works). Also set the program to be run as administrator.

I don't know how to do this with 10 nor am I sure how it works with the Steam version since I already had and still have Battlefront's versions on my computer and cannot say their settings did not influence the "new" Steam versions. I also found that after playing around with Steam/ToW2Africa I did something it didn't like and it would not load up. So I uninstalled the Steam version and reinstalled it from my Steam DLC folder and everything works fine again. I also have migrated much of my custom battles and campaigns over to the Steam versions and these remained after the uninstall and reinstall - so don't worry about loosing anything (nevertheless I have almost too many back up copies of e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g on multiple drives.)

Making custom battles and campaigns - and especially maps - is a heck of a lot of work!! I don't intend to loose any of it.

These are the best WWII amour battles games ever produced, balancing beautiful graphics with historical accuracy (as far as they go) with involvement of a substantial level of an "human intelligence" interface! Higher levels of graphics and AI control doth not a good game make!

If there is a downside to the games it is the limits of what they cover! I'm not looking for people to game with. I'm looking for like minded people who have also determined to expand the experience - in order to trade custom content. I've been playing off and on since 2007 +/- but I hardly know everything about the games. The learning is part of the enjoyment and expansion of mental involvement.

I just bought the game and it crashes after about 10 min in the trainer mission. It seems that steam does not support other company's games and the game is about 10 years old so the game company does not have any patches. Battle Front has patches but only for the version they sell, not for steam. It is said that steam has patch 1.3.5 as an option but... I do not see the option and it is crashing if it is installed automaticly. darn...

It used to run though, for at least a year on windows 10. Now, since the last update it is dead. Quite annoying

You can play this on Windows 10. You need to go to the exe file in the F:\steam\steamapps\common\Theatre of War II Kursk 1943 .

Right click the exe file and then click on "compatibility" tab in there tick "run as admin" and set compatibility to "run as windows vista 2"

Any problem let me know and I will try to help.

Cheers.

I tried running as vista for windows 10 and it still crashes after about a minute or 2.
