Game Not Closing After Quitting

That's it. My son plays the game and it still shows as running unless I open Task Manager and manually kill the process.

Inflated play time isn't a big deal, but having to do this is annoying. What gives?

Anyone else with this issue? First report of it, at least recently.

I've also had this happen to me. I think it started with the Custom Colonies beta.

can confirm, even if left for an hour or more, it doesn't stop running unless you **manually** close it via steam.

I have the same issue. Tried to fully reinstall the game with deleting of config files - no luck. Game process still running after many hours after the game.

Looks like one of our devs has encountered the issue too. It's being looked into.

Thanks! My son will probably also think it's rad that one of the game's developers knows about our issue.

It still happens on my main system (7800X3D) but does not on my older one (i7-6800K). Both are running Win10.

The devs are working on it. I think we'll try to get a fixing patch out for it when we've 100% identified the issue, but nailing it down is proving difficult.

Got the same problem. I’m playing on Mac. After trying to quit the game, it blackscreens and doesn’t actually quit. Even trying to manually kill it didn’t work, I used to reboot several times before the game actually stopped.
But the last time was the worst, I managed to manually kill the game via task manager, but I can’t open Steam since then! It just freezes, maybe it tries to re-open the game.
Please look into this. I really like the game, but this is demotivating.

FYI not sure if it is related but another game was doing this for me: Oxygen Not Included so may be steam related or something else in common.
