Guessing we will be able to unlock driver ants for use in story mode in the future?

I only guess this because the custom Gene Thief Ant from free-play has the small and large driver ant soldiers as ants to use.

nope, so far the driver ants, like the army ants, are not a standalone ant that can be unlocked or used as its own colony with its own queen nest etc

army ants are only available in the other foot as part of the Counterpart Colony which is an ereptor colony because they're a nomadic species.

the Driver Ants also do not have their own queen as they are a nomadic species as well, but who knows... maybe they'll make them as part of an ereptor colony as a dlc campaign or so, you can hope but otherwise, they are not their own species.
