Honestly you can just debate about anything you want regarding the game in here But just debate or argue.

Pervasive > Vigorous for high-difficulty non-scientist maps for sure. It will save you hundreds or even thousands of food over the mission. It only takes 25 free ants to be worth 100 food, and you'll lose that just to random critter encounters.

Maybe once you're adept at the game Vigorous is better since you can better gauge your encounters? But if you're playing the fire ant missions for the first time, pervasive makes it much more forgiving.

If levels, Rapid Fire. If homebase, Mortar. Stun on lvls, Taunt on HB. Vigorious 4.1, Pervasive 4.2 (apparently its better Vigorious to clear out the hive 1st but meh), Pervasive HB. Anaesthesia 5.1 (medics are dps vs monsters), Fast Responder 5.2, Fast Responder HB.
