HELP REQUEST: Are you experiencing recent crashes without a game update?

It's time to get a picture of the hardware setups of people who have been having this issue recently.

Almost certainly an update to your systems has caused this, since the game itself has not had an update since before Christmas. The most likely culprit here is a driver or software update, followed by a Windows 10 update.

If people with crashes aren't getting crash report files (if you are, email them to us), then please post your system specifications here. The easiest way to do this is through Steam:

1) Go to Help > System Information
2) Copy and paste everything that appears in the popup box.

Just an update for everyone who's posted here / having this problem - we've identified a way of fixing it, which involves upgrading the game engine for Empires of the Undergrowth.

This is something we were intended on doing anyway before the fire ant update, so the fact that this will fix the issue for some players just means a slight shift of our priorities. An engine upgrade is a pretty extensive task, and plenty of things are likely to break in the process.

If anyone else would like to help us confirm that we're on the right path, here's a message John's been sending out to people helping us:

Follow these steps:

Find “Empires of the Undergrowth” in steam and right click it
Select “Properties”
Select “Betas” tab on the left
In the “Enter beta access code to unlock private betas:” type:
“crashtestants”
Select “Check Code”
You will now be presented with a button to join the beta “Crashtest”

Once you have selected this steam will download the new build of the
game (this could take a while). Once it is downloaded try running it.

Respond to this email letting us know if the menu loaded or if it crashed.
