Big head ants are kicking my tail!!!

I've played through the fire ant missions several times before 1.0. But now the big head ants are so much more aggressive and kill me over and over. The mission has made food more scarce as well, what am I missing? I've tried 4 times on medium now, anyone got a good strat?

look up a youtuber named Ungar and check out his impossible 4.1 playthrough. Helped me massively to the point where even with the challenge active its one of the easiest levels for me to smash.
dont be afraid to restart if you have a bad start on the first day. its a mental map if you dont get the basics down by the second morning

There has been no change to swamp levels.

If you play on medium, the bigheaded ant colony only attack from the fourth day onward. However, they will attack you immediately if you attack them first.

I've completed it several times before, always on medium. I even beat the toad last night, only to be killed by the invading amphibians despite having 150 fully upgraded soldiers and over 1400 food

In previous versions, I even cleared out both opposing ant colonies to juice up my foodstores

There's no way you should be losing on medium with 150 level 3 ants and 1.4k food, you should be crushing it with that. You must be doing something really wrong in your fights.

How late into the mission do you beat the frog ? Are your ants separated into multiple groups or one big one ? Do you have enough workers with combat off to replenish losses ?

How is your nest layout, are you fighting the amphibians in narrow tunnels or big areas ?

Ignore them and focus on clearing your hive to get food, create a good amount of ants, clear the southern area completely in one go, harvest all the stuff thats there and get even more ants, kill the big headed ones, kill the frog.
