new game plus and royal jelly price increases
since new game plus is a thing, i decided to test what the highest price of royal jelly is before you literally cannot upgrade anything anymore

3 out of the 4 upgradable stats can get to level 25, one sadly only gets to 24, before the price becomes higher then 999.999, and focusing on only two will give you one 50 and one 49

just felt like mentioning it, i'm curious if something might eventually happen so we can upgrade these higher and take on the higher new game plus difficulties, or if this really is as far as you can go, if so ah well

I hope we are getting story expansion that lets us upgrade more and have newer stuff

I really do want to make these numbers higher, I want my workers to go Mach 10

For most of the upgrades it's just grindy and nonsensical. Can spend ~10 hours repeating maps to for a 1-2% increase in a single stat of a single ant. This scales worse than incremental games, as there are no incremental gains. Then the fact the formicarium is completely separate from the rest of the game makes it all feel so out of place.

I dont know if Mike and the rest of the team cares about this thing or not, but there's an app called WeMod, it has "cheats" for a variety of games including this one, though due to the 1.0 update the only one working right now is no food consumption, it has a cheat where it sets your RJ to 999,999, which gives you ~99 minor improvements for each ant.

This game has 2 math oddities that could be trouble if grinding for Royal Jelly and tech upgrades. The game needs a hard cap for the maximum Royal Jelly you can store and lowering the cost for tech upgrades. A hard cap for each tech would also be a good idea.

The maximum Royal Jelly allowed is 2147483647 before the number becomes negative. If you collect even 1 more RJ while at the max 2147483647, the next number shown is negative and you cannot purchase anything any more. This is where a hard cap is needed to avoid ruining a game. The game should never be allowed to go above 2147483647 RJ and if it did to auto-fix it to the cap.

Maximum purchasable upgrades for an ant family is 148 before the RJ cost is a negative number for the 149th upgrade cost. Note that 2147483647 RJ will only buy 140 upgrades for any ant tech tree.

To go higher than 150 tech upgrades I needed the use of a memory debugger. But by cheating and going above the current possible limits I risked making the game crash prone or laggy.

correction, evenly spreading it, only 3 of the 4 minor improvements can get to 25, one is 24, if you only focus on two, then one is 50 and another 49

that and the improvements only start working on missions on new game plus

If you turn it off when you turn it on, then yes perhaps that is so, but I'm talking having it on throughout doing the minor improvements

nope, i leave it on but the jelly goes down with the price, and when i close the menu it goes back to that much 999.999

Exactly, you eventually reach 99 improvement points

This is probably my biggest problem with this game. I can deal with all the other things, like freaking emperor scorpion on impossible. But i really don't like that I cannot continue to upgrade my ants without farming the same missions over and over.

and once you reach a certain point, you literally cannot upgrade them anymore, as the price is higher then what you can have

So, they only affect the relevant ants in new game plus? Do they do ANYTHING in the first playthrough? Like for formacarium challenges for example?
