Deleting tiles leaves ants
I was experimenting with different nest layouts and saw some ants that didn't belong. After investigating I found that after I delete a tile the ant it was associated with didn't disappear or go away. My unit count decreased as normal, but the ants themselves stayed.

These axtra ants could be used to tend the nest as normal, but were unable to be selected. So If my nest is powerful enough to stop anything from entering my nest, these "free" units would never be killed. By deleting the tile, I get back half the food it cost to build so this could be a serious exploit.

We're looking into this - thanks for the report. This is the level of experimentation that we hope for!

I always assumed that was intended...

I guess that would be nice, although these left over ants can't be tasked with anything other than the default tend the nest.

I'm a very tidy person and when I remove a tile it's for a reason, I'd prefer it if the ant went away too. Its a feng shui thing. lol

No problem :) I noticed on my last play that I deleted a soldier ant tile and I think I saw the ant die (hard to tell because I had a lot going on at the time)...so this may only be a bug with the worker ants.

Mike,

I tried testing to see which units were affected and was unable to reproduce the problem. I tried workers, melee, ranged. I tried level 1 units and then tried upgrading them to level 3. But it worked as intended. That's good that everything worked this time, but bad that I couldn't nail the problem down for you.
