Why don't dead ants become food?
I am guessing it hasn't been implemented because of balancing problems or something along those lines but as far as I know real ants make food out of the corpses of other ants, including their own.

Wouldn't it be possible for them to at least become 1 unit of food? In my case I really feel like I am a swarming power when I take back the carcasses of my enemies back to the nest instead of just seeing them disappear leaving no trace.

Any chances of this being implemented?

allow me to answer this Mike, i asked this same question as you see this alot with nature documentaries well some anyways and the answer was no as in truth a great majority of ant species don't eat other ants and even less that do eat other ants cannibalize their own species or colony

I didn't know that! So the common belief that ants will eat anything and everything is a misconception. Well if you think about it, there are ants that only eat fungi and so on...

Thanks for the answer :steamhappy:

The corpses should remain for awhile after killing them, if we can't gather them for food. Actually, ALL the corpses in the game should remain for awhile after killing/gathering them, regardless if there is any food left.

1) Most ants do not eat other ants
2) It would likely overburden the engine and make weaker computers combust

When ants dies (or are about to die), they start to emit a certain pheromon, allowing everyone to know that the ant is dying/dead, therefore, ants place them in the trash, even if they are not totally dead sometime.

im sorry but thats not true, most ants will eat other ants and their dead, especially when food is not plentiful, then they put them in their garbage pile.

ive seen this time and time again said in ants groups and observed it as i actually "keep" ants, i have about 25 different species in my area and if i wanted i could become a gan farmer and sell ants in my state (only in my state).

As above - not many ants are cannibals, and from a gameplay perspective creating that many food jobs would mean not much would get done.

Cordyceps fungus has multiple species aswell, Others species only affect specific insects, But ants are only one of the species of Cordyceps, The Cordyceps fungus unfortunately does not turn them into zombies, They turn them into a mindless host that goes to the highest area possible to release spores, THOSE ARE NOT FLESH EATING CREATURES.
