How to select an arbitrary ants number to group em on another group?
I remember doing that in the old web page pre-Steam demo, but now i forgot which key to touch to do that.

Game control settings dont say nothing tho.

If a want to move/categorize lets say just ONE ANT to another group, what key + mouse i should press?

This is not possible. Instead, you have to build your ants in chambers, where connected tiles of the same type of ant will be in a unit.

I'd recommend either leaving walls or using speed tiles to keep brood chambers apart.

ya im not liking the "grouping" feature they have, we should be able to group without them just being in the same chamber.

It's a key design choice and makes players think about how they're going to lay out their nests.

well i agree, but the thing is it doesnt allow for actual planning your nest, you either place them all together or have a bunch of small groups, not incuding the queens brood chamber which is stuck literally in the middle, which in my opinion should be allowed to be placed by the player and the queen should be controllable so you can move her.

for example placing the queens nest as far as possible from the entrance so we can make strategic tunnels to slow the enemy down from getting to her quickly or so her brood chamber cant be "spawn camped" by the insects.

that being said it would also allow more elaborate/strategic nest planning.

link to my thread if you havent seen it, i already made sugestions/ideas to give the game a bit more substance and startegy,i will be adding more.

dont get me wrong i love the game its quite fun and has a bit of the feeling i had when playing sim ant, so the nostalgia is there and seeing as i raise and study ants personally and are part of ant/termite groups on facebook, i find games like these interesting and fun but i also think about stuff that should or shouldnt be done, but im not saying games or this game in general has to have/be realistic as some parts just cant be like that to begin with.

I feel like the curent system of how control groups work and queen placement is nice as it requires you to have a plan for nest layout. Not only must you have an idea of how your 'end game' nest will look, but also makes you put the initial chambers and paths in the right place so your nest grows organically. It gives me a feeling of having a build order such as in Starcraft or other RTS games. As for queen location I feel that moving the queen would take pressure off of having to win outside or at the entrance, but if you use your formicarium nest options her abilities make her very hard to kill.
