Well, quite. An arachnophobe on our Facebook page suggested funny hats; we loved the idea so we ran with it. It'll work for some people, it won't work for others. We think we're going to do a version where the hats are bigger and the spiders are invisible.
We're not in the business of being offended on behalf of anyone so we've just had fun with it at the moment. We realise there is more we can do - but as you said, people who are really afraid of creepy crawlies are unlikely to want to play this game anyway.
Love the game however. You just need to focus on rebuilding the cave so you can pick the routes you want. Right now it feels more like Dungeons 2 and 3 with the Dungeon Heart in the middle. The structure doesn't really make sense as any attacker have way to easy to get to the queen.
I would buy the game if the Arachnophobia mode where bullet-proof, until then Ill wait. Cheers
Since this post we've fully implemented arachnophobia mode - you can now replace the spiders entirely with hats.
