Digging out the entrance tunnel.

Dose this start the game on the surface or dose the surface game start when you start the mission, if you would not digout to surface, will npc ants/critters dig into your nest?

(Question is about 2.1 and 2.2 btw)

The formicarium is your safespace. You'll only be attacked here when you allow it. After you finish a level, all food you've won will be distributed on the surface.

The actual levels all start with the entrance already excavated and a tunnel leading toward it.

i wondered this too but couldnt be bothered testing it.

It is easy for you to test if you can be bothered. Just sit in one of the missions for 15mins. then open it up.

After an update, on 2.2 after I dug to the surface 3 black ants attacked my Nest

to answer your question start of the mission if you w8 to long the other ants will break thru for you
