Black screen when I run the game

I can hear everything (video and music), but image is not displayed. Someone know how to fix this problem?

I have had this exact same problem since I bought the game. Still haven't successfully played it.

Same here. But if I hit escape a couple times I get an arrow cursor on a black screen.

Windows 10. Tried running the compability mode program, chose the earliest version Windows XP and unspecified, neither worked.

Same. Unless the intention is to make us pay for the HD version, I don't know why there's no fix for this.

Plan to unload this game series, and never go back.

Steam sucks on this also. It's been a long time since I bought it, but they won't refund with 36 mintues 'played' trying to get it to work.

It's basically wothless, since it can only run on now defunct systems. STEAM might actually be criminally liable by defrauding their customers.

Try adding these dlls libraries to the root folder of the game. It helped me.

Those dlls fixed my issue thank you. Just move those dlls to the main folder for game

You're welcome.

The resolution patch also fixes this issue and you don't need to install dlls.
Just make sure that you run "RangersNewRes.exe" in Win 98 compatibility mode and run the game with this file.
