How do I avoid a rope?

The first appearance of a rope, after entering green sector: slide down the rope, activate console, new platforms appear. But when I try to jump on the lower platform, I always grab the rope and slide down. Am I missing something?

Hello,

Ghost will grab the rope when you press UP again after jumping.
If you're using the same button for jump and up, just press it once to jump, don't press it again.
If you're using different buttons, then just don't press UP when being near the rope.

I found this rather difficult using an analog stick before I learned to press down to duck on the platform. It took me quite a while to figure out.
