Where do I start? From the beginning, Unga Boonga has a really captivating storyline; a heart-warming tale of family, accompanied by harrowing evils that lie within the mountain.

The graphics are absolutely stunning. In breath-taking 4K , every drop of water, sun ray and reflection bring the Caveman World to life.

Beyond the technical aspects, there is a philosophical comment to reflect upon. Who really is Unga Boonga? Unga Boonga is a family man. He bring home to Boongas. Unga may not like point things, or bitey things, or burney things, but Unga is willing to face his fears and challenges for his family. When you think about it, Unga Boonga is everything that we aspire to be – I, am Unga.

As a game, it stays true. No pay to play DLC, no $80 price tag. Travel the mountains of Unga Boonga as you would travel along your own personal timeline. Take in the experiences, and reflect upon the atmosphere which is Unga Boonga.

In Caveman world what you see is what you get. This is a very simple platform game with a cheesy sense of caveman humor.

Your goal is to make it to your family in every level while picking up fruits and seashells and the like. You must avoid monsters, fires and traps.

The Pros:
- Artwork is good enough for the price
- If you let the character idle he will make a bunch of lame caveman jokes
- The control is good enough that you feel you are in control.
- There is a fair amount of content for the price if you enjoy the game
- The game starts you off in really easy levels so that you can get the hang of the controls, this early level design is well done.

The Cons:
- Clearly a mobile game with no real PC options to speak of outside of the Unity launch window
- Environment physics feels really goofy, undermining the overall feeling of control
- While the challenge increases the game does not really increase in interest. Your caveman doesn't get new powers beyond the ability to jump, and the game quickly devolves into needing to use the wonky environmental physics just right to advance.

I am going to give this game a very tenative thumbs up because I think the store page accurately sets expectations. This is a weak but cheap mobile platform game with decent controls but really weird environmental physics. If this combination is not for you the game is not for you. If this combination sounds up your alley, or you want to stand there for caveman jokes, go ahead and give it a try.

Strong contender for the title of Best Game of All Time. The graphics are all visible, the enemies are all dangerous, the protagonist protags, and of course, the Ungas Boonga. I play this game almost every day now, and every time I find myself wow'd by its game-like qualities. Definitely a 10/10 recommended buy, I'd like to see continually added content for when i eventually beat the game so I can continue to play it forever. If I could vote Unga for president I would, but instead I will settle for leaving this shining Steam Review.

Actually this game is fine for a platformer genre, but really need improvements to be recommended by me.

Not recommended: 5/10

First off, the positive review score is misleading. If you take into account the key activation reviews this is at a Mixed (66%) rating, and would be even lower if the positive reviews weren't largely memes. It's an incredibly mediocre physics-based platformer, obviously visually but more importantly mechanically.

The physics allow you to scale walls you shouldn't be able to, you get stuck infinitely falling on corners, and the jumping feels very floaty. Jumping and running require stamina so you'll occasionally just have to stand around waiting for it fill up - seems like a pointless mechanic that was just added to give the collectables a purpose.

There was one level that I kept getting stuck in a destructible wall halfway through and was forced to restart from the beginning every time. Several jumps require awkwardly running up logs and leaping.

The egg destruction mechanic is quite strange. You have to run on them to break them, but the majority of the time it would take a lot of time and finesse to actually get it to break. I don't why you aren't just able to use the bone you're carrying to smash them - which by the way you never use.

All of the levels are quite repetitive. New traps and physics objects (trampolines, wheels, etc) are introduced over time. But it's really just about gathering collectibles and keys while you can easily platform around and dodge the majority of harm. The enemies all behave the same, just walking back and forth and attacking if you get close for too long.

For the asking price or more realistically the sale price it's passable I suppose. It's just not very entertaining and is full of bugs and odd design choices.

I got a discount when I was crafting steam badges.
This is one of those games that you'd get to farm trading cards.
