Continuous Out of Memory Crashes
Will the crashes that begin to happen a few years into the game be fixed by release- do the devs need our help with crash reports and the like?

Make sure, you're playing it on the GPU and the crashes should stop.

Have you been getting more crashes recently? Please send your reports. We review them all looking for things we may have missed.

According to what I have read, this is a memory leak issue, not a graphics issue.

It's not so much a memory leak issue as it is a fragmentation and architecture issue. While there may be some leaks (as you find in most software) at the core there are limits imposed on us by the game engine. We've put a lot of effort into addressing these issues as we find them. At this point, we expect that most playthroughs won't experience a memory crash but if they do, using client process, turning off worker animations, using compressed texture terrain, or using a reduced model set can alleviate or eliminate the problem.

How do you switch that?

Well in my case its nvidia:
- Enter the settings of your dedicated GPU
- 3D settings
- program settings
- chose the program you want to set (MHSWW)
- set it, so that it only uses the dedicatet GPU

As I said, in my case I tried everything the devs and the support told me to and nothing worked until I set the GPU usage on the dedicated GPU exclusively.
Gonna necro this up!

The "out of memory" error occurs once every x-turns.

So, theoretically, all you need to do is just reload your last game and just keep playing like nothing happened, and then you'll crash when you hit the x-turns count again.

Ways to increase the x in-turns count: Create more puppet states. (I almost feel like there's a pun awaiting around the corner here, but, no.)

PS. WHYYyyyyy??? I have 32gb of ram, and only 1 gb of ram in use when this happens. WhyyyYYYyyyYYY?????? DEV!!! please fix asap!

There is a work around pinned in the discussion sector. Devs are working on the problem, it will be fixed in the upcoming moths, when they release the 64bit patch.
TLDR: Actually, just, turn on "client rendering mode" in the options, before starting the game, and the problem disappears. Wh00.

This worked for me also, thanks!
