when you want to check your progress in a game's story you should check out its IGN walkthrough because they usually have the main parts of a game listed like chapters in a book and it's pretty easy to see how far you are into it.

There isn't much left. In the tower and after it you unlock all the gadgets which means you can explore and do everything in the world before the final area.

the tower after the angel. Sctually, not much left except to get any achivements you needs and then head to where you fought the giant worm and on top is the point of no return when you talk to the angel the last time.

Also, if you need to grind weapons, go to iron canopy.

Cross the bridge with ruin and enter there. Take the big stone that goes up and down (activate it) When you get to the top floor, you will exit and then go down the left path becasue the right path is the way you came in originally, but you can't go back that way.

So when you open the door and you are faced with an open area where you had to go everywhere to kill the spiders you are actually at the main door to the Boss lair. Look left and drop down and enter the room and you will see lots of spiders. Kill them and then go back to the boss door. By doing this, it will reset the room and the spiders will be there again. Use the rune that boosts your xp as well. You will level your weapons up really fast.
