ARTHAS?!? Wait this isn't Warcraft III or World of Warcraft!

And this is why I will not buy your game, even though it looks like something I would enjoy, the character design is so incredibly identical to Arthas from Warcraft III as he is becoming the Lich King it's just too much for me to stand. There is a fine line between being inspired by a character and stealing someone's creation. Seems like you are dancing on that line here.

Before people say this game came out before, and this is just a Steam/PC port of the game:

Darksiders - January 2010

Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos - July 2002
Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne - July 2003
World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - November 2008

Mordekaiser es #uno.

But seriously saying darksiders war is the same as the old testament war is a bit... stretching the truth.

A true biblical war would probably look closer to Conan since at the time power armor was not really in style at the time.

In reality both arthas and war are just the same kind iron age comic book antiheroes/villains but the fact they share a similar look means F-all when they are in completely seperate universes and share no traits beyond wearing bulky space marine armor and swinging a huge impractical ornate greatsword.

Bah. Kain was sporting white hair, big brutish sword and the affinity for color red way before Arthas was even a thing.
Bonus points for Kain's sword being named The Soul Reaver.

Sorry what?

I get having a legit reason to not like something but seriously dude? Honor and Integrity? Sounding kind of high and mighty there bud. Not to mention that in this day and age in a world where practically every concept in gaming has been done to death you're looking at projects that are inspired by/copy/ reference everything else in their own way so to say something like that you must like only the original ideas of things, only the very first instance of a concept...

Sounds kinda hipster, like a "before it was cool" type deal...might wanna reign that in.

I see you like playing ARK. A survival game, you know the ideas and concepts in that game aren't original right? I see you like playing the Final Fantasy MMO, You know those concepts definately aren't original right? I see you like playing train simulator, You know I used to play train simulator. I sat in a cardboard box that I drew windows on when I was a kid and pretended I was driving a train so I dislike that game because it turds all over the honor and integrity of my childhood imagination.

See how pathetic that sounds?

If you don't like something then you don't like something. That's as simple as it should be. Not this listing all the similarities BS in attempt to justify why you don't like it and all this honor and integrity BS.

Power armour? What? He's not wearing power armour. Plate armour of a kind but it's not power armour. Power armour is a mechanical device that boosts the person's strength, speed etc. War and etc have plate armour, enchanted more than likely but it's still plate armour.

Considering angels in this game use something akin to a plasma cannon there is reason to believe a good number of items encountered in this universe are at least partially technological in nature and Wars armor might not be an exeption since it's particularly bulky and ornate.

Magic and Technology, wars armor is most likely comprised of the charred council's dark powers or it was created by lilith.

Well i did not specify what kind of power powers his armor.
It's 100% certainly not plain steel plate though.

And there's the chance his armor is a case of magic applied in a technological manner similar to Redemption Cannons.

I think you are correct. It is a mix of both. If you look at the Angels, their method is mostly tht of technology where as if you look at the demons their methods are more primitive and arcane than technologically advanced. Nephilim are supposed to be the inbetween so it would make sense they take the best of the arcane with the best of technology and mix the two. You only need to look at Strife's guns to confirm it really.

Both Mercy and Redemption look like a mixture between old and new technology but are quite obviosly magically powered.

The whole game is basically a God of War clone and you are talking about stealing from Blizzard?

I never said this game's gameplay was a ripoff of anything. I did specifically talk about the main character's art design being damn near the same as Arthas' from Warcraft III and WOW: WOTLK. Others, on the other hand, they are going nuts over everything else about the game on their own.
KEV1N Dec 2, 2016 @ 8:09am
Yeah he does look a lot like Arthas but I don't feel like that's a good reason to not play the game. If it looks like something you'd enjoy you should give it a try.

Dude, get a life. Seriously. What kind of screwed up individual comes into a public forum and criticizes character design from several years ago? I pity you. Get professional help.

Mark Hamill voice acts for a main character. Worth it. (Sounds slightly Joker-ish. Love it.)
