Controller not working
Has anybody the same problem?

I have my controller plugged in, but I can't controll the game with it. If I unplug the controlle while the game is running, the game stops and gives me the "Controller Disconnected " message.

I tried the controller in another game and everything works fine.

the game only lets you play with whatever you use to click the "Start Game" button when you launch the game, so you need to do that using the controller not pushing enter or whatever in the kb

Which controllers did you use that caused issues ? We have *extensively* tested the game with X360 controllers, they should really work at all times.

If not, do you use any special setup, drivers, the like ?

As was said earlier, the device you use to enter the game from start screen should control the game. You can always also use mouse to control the UI, though.

I use the Razor Sabertooth controller and I don't use any special drivers. And when I press a button in the start menu nothing happens. And it's the only game in wich this happens.

I use a wired X360 controller, and it *mostly* works... but as soon as the game starts and I see the prompt to "Press X to attack", nothing happens when I hit X. Or Y. All the other buttons seem to work... i can jump, grab stuff, target, pause, etc. I just can't attack with X or Y, making the game unplayable.

Ok, I see. We probably need to make a few tests here and there.
As far as I have googled, the controller should behave as XInput device. I can see a problem where the controller also gets recognized as Direct Input device and not filtered because it is not exactly an X360 controller.
So it would be recognized as unsupported Direct Input device - which the game should not allow to use.

Do you know if the Razor Sabertooth works in the original Darksiders game or in other games that only support XInput ?

Huh ??
Thats really, really strange. I guess I don't need to ask if it works ok in other games.

Actually, it looks like my problems were caused by an improper install. I had Steam validate my game files, which resulted in 8 files having to be re-downloaded, and now everything works fine.

I don't know if it works in the original version. I will download the original version again and test it. Oh and by the way...thanks for the quick replys/help.

Hm...I tried to connect the controller via a USB 2.0 port and...voila...it's working. Using the USB 3.0 port seems to be the problem. At least in my side.

Can you confirm it works in other games through USB 3.0 ?
