With Hades being one of the very first game being promoted from a newly created store by pretty influential gaming company, it seems a pretty great opportunity for Supergiant to get some exposure.
It's arguable whenever the sheer number of users on steam would get them exposure in the first place compared to a newly created Epic Game store that doesn't currently have that many customers, however i think that Pyre did not sell that well for them, at least compared to Bastion and Transistor, the two games that are still credited that are made by them, as proven from the Hades trailer where Pyre is not mentioned :( .
I'm very bummed out if that's the case, because i really believe Supergiant made another stellar game (Granted, i don't know how much my words hold weight since we are on the Pyre discussion board, where everyone who liked the game are the ones willing participate in here).
I don't think i even heard about Pyre when it came out. It just happened to be there, and i purchased it when i checked my email and saw the game got released (since it was on my wishlist). I really think Pyre is one of those games that shows their appeal once you actually play it. When i heard about it, i kinda went "ehhh..basketball fantasy?", but when i played, i just got hooked immediately and loved it, as someone who isn't too hot over visual novels. Even then, not everyone are fans of the gameplay, or even the text heavy visual novel style, which is probably the reason of their sales unfortunately.
