How will PC co-op work?
I already purchased the game, and I already have faith that the campaign will be extraordinary. The versus mode seems like something fun that my sister and I will enjoy, but this made me wonder about how the co-op will work. Would it be that both people use the keyboard? Or is it mandatory to have a controller while the other uses the keyboard & mouse? Of course, I am fine with both options, but I still want to know.
Additionally, I just wanted to share my idea about a co-op campaign. I already know that the campaign will be singleplayer only, but a idea that popped into my head is that you have one player being the group of exiles that the game already has. And then the other player will be like a rival to the first player. So throughout the game both groups grow stronger and every couple of matches against AI, the two would play a match. Maybe the two groups could interact in certain ways. If this were to happen however, then the screen would most likely be like a splitcreen game, which would be weird having to resize the window(s) to have the two games look okay. It would also be strange since some people might finish matches faster and whatnot, so the two players would be at different levels. Anyways, clearly this will not happen, but I just wanted to share my idea. Also please tell me how local co-op works, I haven't played a local co-op game on the PC yet, this would be the first. :/

Hey, there is no co-op in Pyre. You'll find there's a lot to the game, but co-op was not something we pursued as part of the game's design.

If you've seen some reference to there being co-op, please point me to it so I can make sure there isn't an incorrect source of that information floating around.

The game has a single-player campaign and a Versus Mode for one or two players.

Yours is a cool suggestion for co-op though would have made for a very different game than the one we've made!

Sorry, I knew there was no co-op, but by co-op I meant multiplayer. Sorry for writing it as if I meant there was actual co-op!

Oh, my mistake! I get what you're asking. The optimal way to play Versus Mode is going to be two gamepads plugged into one PC. We know not everyone has a gamepad, though, let alone two of them, so the game also supports fully remappable mouse-and-keyboard controls. At this point we don't plan to support two-players-on-one-keyboard as a control option for Versus Mode, though.

Okay, I understand now. Thanks for letting me know! Fortunately I have two controllers. Once again, thank you. I anxiously await for Pyre to come out, I am very excited since I just finished Transistor so now I have complete faith in Supergiant's games to have great stories. I know I wrote it twice and is probably getting repetitive, but thanks. :D

What about online versus with steam? Do we have to ve friends with someone to face them.

They did not take time to implement online play.
It might be possible to mod LAN play to play online but since Supergiant could not spend too much time on coop it is possible that there will be lags and bugs and stuff.

Wanted to note there is no LAN mode in Pyre. Versus Mode is for two players on the same system (or one player against the CPU).

For what it's worth, my wife and I won't buy the game since there's no local co-op
