Optimization for weak PC
Dear developers! I'm your very big fan and will buy your games even I can not play them with comfort. Please, even it is not your major task and you need to work with bugs and glitches for now - make netbook mode or something like that (how it is done in Dont starve or Torchlight games). Very sad that i can easily play Bastion without any discomfort whereas in Transistor and Pyre have 7-12 fps. Sorry for the whining, but this is really a cry of the soul! Anyway, I remain your big fan. I do not hope, of course, to help with these two projects, but I really needed to write this. With respect and love !!!

The best advice I can offer is to try the following steps:

1. Right Click Transistor in your Steam Library
2. Properties -> Set Launch Options...
3. /Bloom=false /DrawRecursivePaths=false
4. Hit ok and try running the game - see if that help

Set the game to Windowed and Borderless in Settings -> Display

You may also increase performance by decreasing your resolution in-game.

We'll definitely start a conversation about a possible lower-spec version of some sort, although we can't promise anything until we've sorted out all of our launch issues.

Thanks for sticking with us, and for your patience!

Why not include bloom and other effects options in the game's settings menu? No, seriously why not? The game is on PC and it SHOULD have graphics options for tweaking. My PC is good enough to run this game, but I don't see ANY reason why you wouldn't imclude several graphics options to tweak the game so people with weak PCs could run it and you could cover broader audience.

In the past we've typically only exposed these as launch options for people who need them. One problem we've had with making them UI options is they can actually break certain parts of the game, i.e. if Bloom is used to cover a load transition or for some piece of feedback then that's just missing.

Our plan is to evaluate the least performant systems and evaluate user toggling when we have time to consider the full impact of each system.
