The ship is overloaded?

I mined some asteroids, collected the minerals and now cant do anything. It says "the ship is overloaded [OK]" but I cant get into my inventory to do anything about it.

In the upper left corner is your character's face, click that to access your ship's inventory. From there you can drag some of the material to the waste bin icon on the upper right of the ship display to drop it in space (there will be a slider bar so you can choose to only drop part of it)

If the clicking on the face icon doesn't work, then the game itself is at fault

nope. I gave up playing game.
