This game feels more like it belongs to a Mobile App than something that should be on Steam.

I've played and seen similar games within the Mobile App stores; this game in particular seems to have a combination of systems utilized: The fusion/max-level bonus evolution system found in multiple card game RPGs, and the battle system is reminiciant of the "advancing army" style of play. This style of gameplay isn't as common as other types of games within the Mobile market, but it is present.

That's about as much good I can say, however. There's definitely many more bads to goods to this Steam App:

When I played the game, the game felt a bit laggy while controlling my characters or navigating the menu. I don't know if it's my OS that caused this, but it very quickly got irritating.

The UI doesn't feel modified for a PC. Often, I have difficulty selecting the unit that I want to move, which doesn't help considering the already-present lag. When I try to click a unit above another, I'll end up selecting THAT unit instead. There's also grammar and font issues, as well, which is something one SHOULD fix when porting a game from the Mobile market.

Finally, when I tried closing the window with Alt+F4 or the corner button, it instead kept bringing me to the Gem Purchase menu. I get that the game is free-to-play, but this seems like a very underhanded move, especially when all I wanted to do was close the game. This part here was the nail in the coffin towards my feelings about this game; it felt less like a legitimate attempt at a good game and more like an attempt to desperately harvest money from players.

Utter mobile trash.
Game like that do not deserve reviews, but warnings and flags.
Games like that are developed around the shop not the the other way around and you get pointed to the shop and their "time limited sales" way too often. We get it you want our money you thirsty greedy AF pig.

The developers shut this game down. It was an online only game, so it is now unplayable.

Despite this, they have nothing that declares this on their store page. So i'm making this review to help people realize you cannot play this game, so don't bother installing. This page needs to be removed from the store.

Step 1 - Mute Sound effects and Music, seriously, that crap doesn't need to be by default 500% louder than literally everything.
Step 2 - Spam the green button until the game plays itself for the tutorial
Step 3 - Notice that this game is just another mobile port
Step 4 - Uninstall game and go back to doing anything else more important
Step 5 - Optional, write a review and let anyone who wants to read it know this game is meh.

Well this is an experience like no other... I have all the DLC-s, some I bought, some I got for free in giveaways. I grinded and grinded every day, untill at one point I couldn't progress anymore. It's rediculus. I really like the game, but I'm level 50+ and can't progress anymore. WTF, it feels like the stronger my army gets, the tougher PVE & PVP gets, so it feels like I'm getting weaker and weaker, even though I have bigger and bigger army strenght. I didn't pay enough I guess...

I now realized this game is beyond PTW, beacuse I payed and still didn't win. Unless you spend REALLY a lot of money, like a few hundred EUR to say the least. And even then the PVP & PVE will just become tougher and again you'll find yourself thinking:''What do I need to do to become stronger?'' LOL

FINAL VERDICT: cashgrab/10

Nothing is more expensive than a free game on Steam.

Forge is a browser-based game ported to steam and mobile devices. In the context of Facebook or Kongregate, it was a satisfactory grind game to kill time, but is little more than a background idling game for desktop PC users.

Pros
+ Decent artwork, music, sfx
+ Guild system rewards cooperative play
+ Your army's placement affects abilities; elements of strategy
+ Some rare monsters are grindable from stages, not just lootbox locked
+ PVP element, battle other players' armies for rewards

Cons
- Heavily RNG dependent; Best creatures can only be summoned, and you need dozens of the same to upgrade
- Repetitive to a fault; the same stages, tiles, music, and sounds will get old fast.
- Newer levels don't add anything original: the same mobs with higher stats.
- Stages don't scale with XP rewards, and XP is cut 30% until down to 1. Meaning, you can't farm rank after a certain point, and can only level via missions and guild raids/bosses.
- Next to no plot; forgettable

To be fair, this game is adequate. It's meant to be a time-waster and something you invest 30 minutes over a long time. It has cash pay elements (now disabled) that clearly favored pay2win, but was not necessary to play. There was no end goal beyond trying to maximize every creature in your army, and no conclusion to the game's content. I found it a chore to play.

If you're reading this for the first time, don't start the game: Support has been stopped.
If you're an existing player or achievement hunter, this may be your last chance to finish.
(It could go offline any day, but no one knows)
At minimum, around 500 hours to 100%.

DO NOT USE CAMERAS on anything except that really off chance you get a rank v+ elite that escapes. (I caught a rank 5 elite vampire that way!)

Evolve Elites as soon as possible. The easiest and best starter elite is the rank 4 elite wolf. (Make sure Each component of each evolution is MAX level and elite for best results)

Join a top 10, rank 5, guild as soon as you can!!!!!

Want Easy 30/30 PVP streaks? Add weak friends, then click on rankings, and "train".

Something I Just found out: The stats of creatures on a map is determined by YOUR rank VS the Recommended rank:
Example: Normal map, recommended rank 51, My rank 49, Enemy Stats: 4.4k. My rank 50: Stats 2.4k My rank 51+, stats: 1.4k. It works differenlty for the other difficulties, but before attempting a map, enter it, double click a mob to see it stats, if they seem *WAY* out of line, exit the map. You won't lose any meat if you have moved 1 or fewer tiles.

It's hardcore P2W. If you're not a whale, don't even worry about keeping up with the #1-3 guild.
HOWEVER!!!
You end up getting about $50 worth of "free" premium currency per month, just by playing. But here is the big kicker, Join a top guild. Once I joined the #8 guild I started getting 10-30 premium creatures per week, and 3,000 free xp.
And the game is just fun, and addictive.

I don't recommend this game anymore...it's totally a money rip off...and you barely have limited resources to grind...and it requires you to use gems and mostly you need to level up to increase your army power, in order to unlock certain things like add more friends, extra army slots or space and etc...Everything in this game is garbage and very slow...avoid such games like this, cause these devs are greedy and they don't care about your complains at all...mostly the players here are veterans and they are mostly abusive and it's completely unbalanced in arena...they matched you up with higher levels mostly...and if you are new...don't ever try this game...don't believe those good reviews probably they ain't even real players...and it's not even a pay to win or pay to progress game...if you pay you would totally regret it, don't support their disgusting company...they have horrible drop rates in buying crypts and horrible catch rates in farming evo materials...it's also very expensive in buying crypts, even if they put discounts on it...It's not really worth what you get from those, and you would probably waste more money for nothing...so avoid this good for nothing game, cause these devs have no shame at all...they are mostly bunch of scumbags and money grabbin trash.
