What are the features of this game?
Hello.

It's good to finally we have a police simulation game.

But I have some questions about this game's features.

Can we see pursuits or armed conflicts during the patrol?

Also, will there be details like rank promotions in game?

I hope it's a really detailed police simulation.

I have questions too.
  • Could we call the Ambulance ourselves?
  • Could we do traffic stop in any street?
  • Could we give orders to our under rank policemen.
  • Could we patrol in other units? E.g. SWAT, High Speed Unit, K-9..
  • Could we use radio codes?
  • Could we create dedicated server? If we could, could we increase player capacity and do roleplay?

I will try to answer your questions as good as I can at this point. Please be aware we are still in the middle of development, so I will have to postpone my answer to a few of those points. Here we go:

1. Yes, there will be ranks and promotions in this game. Seven to be exact.
2. Yes, you will be able to call for an ambulance as well as a tow truck and a fellow colleague to take a person you have just arrested to the station.
3. Yes, you will be able to stop and investigate any vehicle and any person you encounter.
4. No, you will play as a regular police officer. There are currently no SWAT, K-9 units etc. planned.
5. You will be able to play online in the game's 2 person multiplayer mode. One player acts as the host and can open his game to a friend.

You will be able to freely choose between a male or a female character. As these two are set characters with their own name and background there will be no further options for customization - however - you will be able to add mods to the game.
Hey Guys,

i have some questions to :

1: are "high pursuits" planned to?
( when yes )
2: Can we call then "Road Blocks" in?
3: You Guys write that we play as a "normal" Cop.
So will you add only Police Officers? Or Deputy Sheriffs to? ( because they are "normal" Cops to )
4: Can we call in Air Support? to spot "Criminal Targets" or so?
5: and will you Guys add later Multiplayer for more Players? ( because i read that we can only play with 1 other Player )
so 4-6 will be really nice ;) then we can play with 3 Units ( 2 Officers per Car )

Hello again!

1. Yes, pursuits are included
2. You can block the road when playing with a friend in the 2 person coop multiplayer.
3. You will play as a police officer starting your rank at cadet and advance up to the rank of lieutenant.
4. No, there will be no air support, sorry.
5. Yes, you will be able to play with a second person as your partner. A bigger multiplayer is currently not planned.
Hello!

1. Depending on your rank and mission you will of course be able to use the appropriate weapons.
2. While you of course can shoot at people and defend yourself if you are shot at, you will always aim to wound, not kill in our game. This may sound strange to you at first, but we would like for you to keep in mind, that our game is not primarily a shooter but simulating a certain job. There are more than enough games around where you can kill your virtual adversaries if you wish to do so. We wanted to do something different however. Shooting at innocent citizens and bystanders will also be penalized for example, so you should really think about when and if using your weapon is really the appropriate response to a given situation.

There is currently no console version in development. We are concentrating on the release for PC right now. The coop will not be splitscreen.

I hope this does not mean that you will be penalized for shooting center mass when defending your life as a cop in this game.
You may want to do some research on police procedure in America, they do not shot to kill, or shoot to wound, they shoot to stop the threat.
IE. Shooting for the arms or legs is not a procedure taught in the police academy.

No, you will not be penalized for that. What I wanted to emphasize in my answer is the fact, that POLICE SIMULATOR 18 is not a shooter. Your aim in a firefight will be to stop the threat just as you said - and this can mean just as well that your adversary survives the encounter. And at least in our game they always will. ;)
