Sword for speedrun
Hi everybody, so the last achievement is gold medal for speedrun, and I kinda need an advice - which sword is the best to set the record for medal? I`ve completed HardMode with Master Sword and now I`m trying to speedrun with Prism, but I`m not quite sure, if it`s a right choice. Can somebody tell me about the best sword for speedruns? I appreciate every answer

the standard sword is the best have more speed than any other in term recover hit and balance distance the all other have a fews second recover to react and in this mode speed is what can save you to die or live

It's best to stick to what you're best with. It's possible that other swords are actually faster (savant knife comes to mind), but speedruns, despite the name, are about consistency above all else. 90% of the time, a careful run through a room WILL be faster than dying 5 times for the sake of a risky path.

Do some practice runs, get in the habit of developing consistent strategies. You'll find minutes being shaved off of every run until you get that gold medal.
Thanks, guys. So I`ve decided to play with prism sword, actually it`s fine. But damn that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievement is hard - spent all my evening on training and have stability with getting platin medals only on Factory, Hotel and Prison. Club is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, and Studio is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ me over, it`s like being a superhuman to get gold medal on that level

the key is study how ia behave when you try diferent outcomes strategy in mind and take the way you like more to do one you have the strategic choice on this phase stage practice a lot until you have dominated.. do that one by one..
then practique do this the whole level

dont do all the game... do one by one and when you practice enought try to do all in one
Got it, thank you, chads)

Look up the skips in club and slaughterhouse. You only have to do the first half of the club room 1 skip, which isn't very difficult, and also is early into the run anyways so resetting doesn't suck that much. The slaughterhouse skip has literally zero risk, and saves you a ton of time and deaths. Try to get platinum medals in the first few levels, which require a gold medal time and no deaths, in order to offset some silvers and bronzes later on. You got this.

Its about consistency until you hit the limit of how far you can go with that routing, then you start adding the risky stuff in.

The Prototype Claymore is the best at deflecting bullets, but its slow speed is a disadvantage in melee work. It allows for unique defensive strategies, since its slowness and huge size let you use it to parry huge swarms of bullets.

The Savant Knife is the best weapon for stabbing. Its short range won't matter too much if you know what you're doing. It will sometimes require multiple stabs to get two enemies standing only a couple steps apart, but its sheer speed will allow you to stab twice or more when you need to. Its short range makes deflecting bullets more difficult, though, and its fast speed ALSO makes deflecting bullets more difficult. I deflect bullets pretty minimally, and usually use slow-mo to do so, and my playstyle strongly favors rolling past enemies to backstab, so I am an avid Savant Knife user.

The Katana and Prism Edge are both happy mediums between the Claymore and Savant Knife. They are tied for second-fastest, although the Savant Knife is fastest by a wide margin. Most people see one of these three weapons as the best, depending on whether they prefer to deflect gunfire from range, or use footwork and rolls to get close for stabbing. People who do both tend to prefer the standard weapons.

The Phoenix weapon trades a mild reduction in speed for a greater range of melee attack. This can kill many enemies that are capable of parrying your blade, since they can't parry being lit on fire. The Sword of Masters has a standard length and is also slightly slower, but has a rechargeable ranged attack. This can be a game changer, allowing you to kill from range without a thrown weapon or having to deflect an enemy's bullet. As awesome as that sounds, it has a cooldown so it is a difficult advantage to scale out against the crowded rooms in most of the later levels. It's a nice hack for beginning players struggling with a specific enemy, though. These weapons have a cool "gimmick," but not an absolute advantage like the Claymore's tremendous parrying ability or the Savant Knife's rapid stabs.

For a speed run, I would recommend the Claymore if deflecting bullets is really important to your playstyle, or the Savant Knife if it is not. If you're not sure, then the Prism Edge is probably the safest and coolest bet.
