Are there any sprite mod guides out there?

I wanted to have some fun modding the sprites but I don't know how to do all the super smart programming stuff modders are able to figure how.

As far as I know, the developers said they don't allow modding officially, but can't stop you from going to a Discord (like the dragon mod's Discord) and grouping together to learn how to mod the game and share the mods with people.
