IMHO it is not your fault, you probably played it in different way than me. I really wanted to feel the story and its plot, reveal secrets and maybe that's why OST is so memorable for me. Your experience sounds just like you slashed your way through enemies and skipped all cutscenes.
I wouldn't say this game is a total failure by any means though - It's a very fun idea with a good gameplay loop. But the soundtrack just feels like Diet Hotline Miami generic techno. HM 1+2 had some of the most incredible OST's in gaming, and this just falls pretty flat in comparison. Maybe it's unfair to compare though.
Also the story is edgy for edgy-ness sake and is super messy while also being kinda forgetful. The protagonist has basically no arc aside from learning who he is, and there's not really any character development aside from a bit of a backstory.
So uh...partially agree? idk. I have mixed feelings about this game.
The game may seem un-memorable because you cannot understand it, which isn't an issue it's totally cool but maybe if you take the time to look into the dossiers, the characters and what happens through each stage you can grasp the concept and comprehend what's really going on. Just a bare playthrough of each stage without taking the time to read and look into it is what makes it seem 'un-memorable'. The soundtrack or music in game is personal preference i guess, I (and many others) enjoy the music but that's neither here nor there
The game has a great story, and it's great that the developer is still putting work into it and trying to release a full on DLC to continue the story and add more lore. this game and hotline miami both are great games that don't just give you the story in dialogue, you have to actually look behind the scenes which is what i love about both of the games so much.
Personally the things i don't like in the game is the motorcycle mission and the headhunter fights, they were both too short and meant nothing for what they were. They kill two 'major' characters and they basically did ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, you just proceed with the game. but regardless of that there are multiple things you can do in the game for extra content like the achievements, i've been replaying over and over trying to get a gold speedrun and 100% the game. I'm 3 achievements off and then after that i'll wait for DLC to earn more achievements and finish the story completely
