Wildlands and Windows 11 Infinite Loading Screen Possible Fix 2024
Hi All!

I hope this helps anyone that is having the infinite load screen problem while using Windows 11. Here's what worked for me after trying uninstalls, reinstalls, verification checks, to even setting my E-Cores to zero, putting it in every type of compatibility mode, basically every sort of option available online and also ChatGPT...

So here it is:

1. Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\games\Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands

2. Right click on GRW.exe, GRW_Upp.exe and rungame.exe and click Disable fullscreen optimizations.

3. Do not check anything else! So there's no need for "Compatibility mode" or "Run this program as administrator."

I currently have HDR and my E-Cores (0) disabled but I'll try to turn them on and update everyone.

Apologies if someone posted this already I may have innocently missed it during my search for answers.

Let me know if it works or not! And good luck soldiers!

Sadly, it has not worked for me; I'm just staring at the splash screen still. Ubisoft knows this is a problem; I won't be buying any Ubisoft games in the future, it seems if this is how they handle it.

Hey there,

I'm sorry that the issue persists after following these steps.

Do you have any additional monitors connected to your PC? If so, can you unplug them and just leave 1 monitor connected and test the game? Additionally please make sure that your monitor's dpi settings are set to default/native value - > It can sometimes cause issues with the game if the value is set to a higher or lower. -> Click here[ubi.li]

I just wanna confirm that disabling E-cores and fullscreen optimizations fixes the infinite black loading screen issue.

My laptop does not support HDR, windows 11, have ecores turned off, set to disable full screen opt, on grw exe and rungame exe, i don't have grw_upp exe (perhaps because i got game on steam), doesn't work, tried running with win 8,7, nothing. stuck on loading screen forever. On the other hand, on my pc also with win 11 it works with no problem, straight away

Update:
I followed video below and it seemed like it doesn't work, so i set in my nvidia panel to always use my rtx card (i have also integrated) and i was trying to set affinity on game to lower cores (i have 11) but i couldn't do it. I let the game just run and it was open for like 15 min and it just started.

My current setting, and steps
In properties, disabled fullscreen optimalisation, run as an admin
on steam, -windowed -noborder
installed latest directx
installed latest visual redistributable
(basically i did all the steps from video)

Hello everyone,
I have been experiencing the same issue. However, I discovered that by disabling E-core or setting it to 0 in my laptop's BIOS, I was able to run the game successfully. There are quite a few frame drops, so I would recommend playing on low to medium settings.
