Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Wildlands

Save Game Data Gone
Just lost 8 hours of Data, played it last night, game data stored locally but suddenly - on starting the game via my Uplay Linked account, I get a whole new "Introduction" startup to the game and at the main menu I only have the option for "New Campaign". It was working fine last night when I got off, and had no problems even after multiple game crashes at different times.

Thanks Ubisoft. I've no clue what happened here.

The savegame loss just happened to me, as well.
I got myself another solution:

NOTE: Of course, GRW should be shut down while you work. Also "GRW" means "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" - Just to get this clear.
Savegame folder location:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\YOUR_ID\3559

Solution #1
There are 4 savegame files in the folder.
MOVE the files to a save location (eg. a new folder on your desktop). IMPORTANT do NOT copy them!
Now copy the MOVED files back into the savegame folder (this is important to ensure the possibility of Solution #2).
See if one of the files could still be intact and delete the not intact ones.
Now turn off Cloud Synch in Uplay and start the game.

If you get your game progress back turn on Cloud Synch while still in the game and close GRW afterwards.
Just to be sure you should change something ingame (eg the weapon loadout) so that the game has a change to actually save.
Be sure that Uplay actually synchs the save files and you should be good to go.

If this did not work for you the following could do the trick:

Solution #2
NOTE: Be sure to work with the original (non-copied), "broken" files. Again, be sure to have a backup!
Repeat the following steps for every single save file you have:
Right click > Properties > Previous Versions
If there is one select it, press on "Copy" and put it into the savegame folder.
Be sure to not overwrite the existing version or you'd have to undo the steps.
After you've done this with all the existing save files go into Uplay settings and disable Cloud Synch.
Now start the game.

If you get your game progress back turn on Cloud Synch while still in the game and close GRW afterwards.
Just to be sure you should change something ingame (eg the weapon loadout) so that the game has a change to actually save.
Be sure that Uplay actually synchs the save files and you should be good to go.

I really hope this will help one or two people out.
It took some time to write all this down, but I am currently happy that I found a way to restore my ~65% campaign progress and want to help you guys out to maybe save yours, too.

Let's hope people actually read this post on page 3... >.<

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥! guess wat happened to me. So i guess its safe to say, disabling SYNC in gay U Play will make it so this dosnt happen again.. This is too good of a game to have these problems. :DSTpoop:

My game was about 80% done, noway i go through the wholething again

If you enabled cloud save then you can do this:

Ubisoft support put this for me -
1. Disable Cloud Sync in Uplay
2. Delete save folder
3. Start game and create new character.
4. Do some stuff, get auto saved and quit the game
5. Enable sync in Uplay again
6. Start the game, It will prompt you with a choice between the local savegame and the cloud save game from the sync.
7. Choose local savegame.
8. You can now continue playing without having to create a new char again

If you did not enable cloud saves then it's your fault that you lost your saves.

Ok but how does that bring back my old save games?
The easy way is to open system restore and pick a date earlier than when you lost your save. Since it's stored in the ubisoft folder and not "my documents" it will restore itself. Make sure when you start uplay launcher and then the game it will prompt you to pick the local save "your old one" or the new game you had to restart. Pick the local and you should be ok.
Glad to see it worked for you. Think I'm going to post this again so others can see it too.
Ah no I just meant to the other people that lost their saves, and you copy pasted my steps btw - Im literally the one who wrote your advice word for word, but hey - get the word out there haha
Had the same, not played for sometime, went to play again lost all save data and only allow new start. Followed the instructions for cloud saves and no joy just loads new game. 30 hours lost and a game that doesn't warrant re-doing all that effort.
I just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ lost 200 hours because of this ♥♥♥♥
Same happened here. I just quit and restarted. It 'remembered' my saves then.
For me starting the game via Steam would never bring back my save file so i tried starting via Uplay and that worked for some reason.
I cant believe that this is still a problem that keeps happening. Wow.
