Wildlands Infinite loading screen after launch (Tried everything) 2024
So I recently installed Wildlands (June 30, 2024) and tried to run the game. But it always gets stuck in the part right after launching the game. It either stays like that or it enters a black out screen. Unfortunately, it remains like that for more than an hour before I decided to force restart my computer. Somehow, my playtime still gets registered despite not being able to get to the menu or even the introduction.

I've seen many threads about potential solutions and fixes that people have discovered but none of them seem to work. Please note I purchased the game in steam.

Things I have tried:
- Uninstall/Reinstall Ubisoft Connect
- Cleared Ubisoft cache
- Verifying file integrity
- Uninstall/Reinstall Game
- Run as admin
- ensured all drivers/system up to date
- C++ Visual all included (even re-installed)
- and many more listed potential solutions*

(I even reset my computer...)

Please advise on any potential solutions that could help me run the game in order to enjoy it.

The windows explorer in windows 11 is a buggy mess. I'm suspecting that is causing the issue. As you have recently reset your PC, try using windows 10 instead.
I won't tell you to repair the system, its fruitless. Too many bugs with windows 11.

But before you reset, I suggest these things,
1. Disable steam overlay and any kind of overlays you're using.
2. Stop third party controllers and hooks.
3. Start Ubiconnect in admin. Logout.
Again clean login and start the game from within Ubiconnect.
4. Try restarting WIndows Explorer from within the task manager.

Before I do go through with the reset, are there any other ways that could possible help with the situation? Feels like downgrading back to 10 is quite the last resort despite it not feeling like it would be guaranteed.

You can try the four things listed above along with these.
5. Verify the game files through Ubiconnect(not steam) after you've launched it in admin mode.

This is such an odd issue. I played the game a couple times on Windows 11 already, and yesterday I got the same issue, the infinite loading screen.

I've also already tried all the steps you've listed as well.

Sorry for the late response, YourLobbyist.

I can see you have tried quite a bit of steps already.
Have you checked for any hardware management software you may have installed by the laptops manufacturer? If there is any, disable it.

Do the full clean boot - https://ubi.li/XQEUx

Also check DPI scaling in Windows. If it's set to more than 100%, change it to 100% and restart your laptop.

Disable Windows 11 AutoHDR feature if it's on.

Check the fullscreen optimisation for the game exe file.
locate the game exe file (it depends on where your Steam is installed. The default is C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\[gamename]), right click on it, open Properties, go to Compatibility tab and disable the fullscreen optimisation if it's on.

Make sure you are not on an Insider Preview of Windows 11. These are beta versions and may not be stable.

Let us know if any of it helped.

If it makes you feel better, it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ useless even when trying to run through Ubisoft Connect as well. Getting the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem and I've tried all the obvious stuff.
The sooner Ubisoft Connect dies, the sooner we can get back to playing these games on Steam which (usually) don't suffer from most of these problems.

You don't have a fix, you're just making that up, otherwise you would have told us already what the issue is (without going into details), no need to make a video.

Just read, i have priority.

Well, my game starts now, but still does not load to the main menu. Soo points to you for getting me farther than any of the other guides I've found. Too bad I still can't play :(

Buy some C4.

UPDATE!!!
I traded my gaming laptop (specs in one of my previous posts) for another one with no GPU, just an intel core 7 (not i7? Idk, it just says 7 in the system info) and it runs omg I'm so happy 😭😭😭

This brings to mind - maybe temporarily disable your graphics card and run the game with just your processor. Lmk if that works for anyone? It's just a thought and I'm too late to try it on my now-exchanged machine
