Those vids aren't mine, they are 3 random people on youtube (the top ones) including candyland who afaik has a NASA computer so I'll believe he has it maxed out considering that's what he does. The issue with the videos however is there is youtube compression, which will blur the artifacts somewhat, just like a 1080p monitor will due to the lower pixel count so using DSR or the ingame render scaler won't make much of a difference, at least if you increase it - With that said, If I DECREASE mine, then it's not so grainy, but I don't want to play at a lower resolution.
Your image also looks very grainy and as I said in my original post and elsewhere, it's _not_ all over, so that means it's not a grain filter. It depends drastically where you are in the game, certain trees show it up far more than others, long grass is a major culprit and so are far off foliage.
I also have my sharpness set to zero.
RoG Swift pg278QR - 165hz 1440p monitor, still regarded as one of the best hence the 600 pound price tag. It's not the monitor, it's the game. Possibly the engine, i can't say I'm not really a fan of AC or FH but there's reports of games on the engine looking grainy also.
It's the Sharpening effect under Video (not Graphics). Scroll down and you'll see it. By default it's set to 30% I believe. Slide it to 0 and it should fix the grain effect.
I came across this post because I had the same problem. I'm running 1080tis in SLI, and three 1080p screens, so slightly less than 4k. I ran it on Ultra and it actually looked fine (not much grain that I can remember) but the fps sucked. As soon as I started with the settings, going to Very High, horrible grain effect. I found the answer on a Reddit page.
I hope this helps
PS. Not sure what's with the people on here arguing about what they see or don't see. It's an obvious problem since Google auto-completed it for me when I searched. If something works for you and you don't have anything helpful to say, don't troll and start a fight with some stranger on the internet.
I don't know why a mod indicate that this post answers the question, because it doesn't, at all. Have already stated from the start, even in THE ORIGINAL post that SHARPNESS IS OFF.
Actually, I did sort off. It's not 100% however so it might be different with you.
I played around with the nvidia control panel, but it depends on how much of a performance hit you want (I got a 1080 ti so it wasn't much for me)
make a wildlands profile, don't do it in global.
Put the anistropic filtering on x16 (though, it is on already in game)
Put the anti-aliasing mode on enchance the application
Put the anti-aliasing setting on x2 (I wouldn't recommend higher but you can try it)
Put MFAA ON if you DON'T use ansel (if you DO use ansel, it can have a memory leak, if you don't know what ansel is, put it on)
Change texture filtering - anistropic to off
negative LOD bios to clamp (stops shimmering, all games should be set to this IMO)
quality to high quality (will default to quality)
and whatever else you want to play around with after.
Or you just haven't played many games.
Or, you're just running at a different resolution.
Or, your standards aren't as high.
Pick one.
