Game Freezing

Anyboby else having this problem. i can be playing fine for like 15 mins then the game will just freeze no crash to desktop or anything just freezes like a still picture and thats it then i after restart my pc

pc specs i7 6800k
graphics card zotac extreme 1080
32 gb ram

2x7970, water cooling, not overclocked. i5 24GB ram.... crash every 20 minutes ... sometimes less, sometimes more... 850W supply.
Game is installed on SSD.

Latest driver, Win 10 64 bit (legal). This has been my developer PC and it is rock solid, I play Arma3, DCS, GTA5, Division and I experience no crashes (OK, Arma sometimes craps out, but hey .. it is Arma :) )


I play 3x 720p on medium-ish detail. (3 monitor eyefinity)...


I used to have a similar issue with The Division. Turning Crossfire off helped. Here, whatever I try, game freezes...

I hear sounds, other players talk, but screen is frozen. The only way to get controls back (over the PC) is to "sign out"....

Latest video drivers installed yesterday. Played 20 minutes, and the game froze.



I don't want to be an UBI basher as I enjoy some of their games. But after killing the 3 monitor support in Rainbow Six, I still gave a chance. Now I have a game that is unplayable.


Seems like after the last update the crashes are more frequent :(

Excatly the same problem for me ! Very annoying ...

I5 2500K with Crossfire 7950 , 16go Ram on a Win 7 system, on a classic HDD.

Just use settings like this ;)
Vsync - Adaptive (sometimes able to notify some small tearing effect). But it's almost doesn't notcable.

So this settings give me stable 60 fps. ;)

I overclock my cpu all other games work fine with the overclock but I thought I would try resetting my cpu to its default settings I did this and the game didn't crash once then worth a try for anybody having the problem in my bios I can save my overclock settings so I can go straight back to them if I wanted most people should be able to do this with theirs

That really strange. I had almost done that game. Never crashed ;) No matter what quality settings .
Your specs - really better than mine ;). So i think problem in drivers, or windows probably.

My specs. Gtx 1070, RAM 16GB, 4770k. I had overclocked also. 4.4Ghz. No crashed . 60 FPS.

Same, thing, just installed yesterday, will not even complete the benchmark, and if I skip that it will freeze at different spots, went to make a coffee, still frozen, looks like I am not the only one, running a gtx1080 so I know it is not a video card issue.

I got the game few weeks ago when I bought my GTX 1080. Haven't been able to play more than 30 mins since before game freezes and crashes, sometimes PC reboots. Have all the latest drivers.

Rig is:
i7 -4790k @ 4GHz
16 Gb RAM
Win 10
GTX 1080

I've contacted NVIDIA and they can't see anything wrong. I contacted Ubisoft support and got a list of things to disable on start, deleting the game's config file etc. etc. All that did was mess up some of my settings and didn't help my situation at all.

I've tried running compatibility tests as though in Win 8 and managed 31 mins before screen froze - but I could hear sounds and actually still hear my gun fire.

All other games (including Far Cry Primal) are running fine. It is only GRW that is giving me all this grief. I've reinstalled the game 5 times, and on the verge of uninstalling for good.

I feel gutted, because this game is a lot of fun in co-op and my friends bought the game in order to play with me. They've all got older computers and lower specs and can play without any issue.

try changing to borderless mode in the video settings and turn off anti aliasing that fixed the freezing for me.

I get same issue even in borderless mode. I'll check the anti-aliasing setting but I think its off.

went to a lower resolution, turned off AA went to borderless, still freezes, can hear the background stuff but no movement what so ever, starting to think this was a waste of money

I've reinstalled windows - so my system is fresh again. Game still freezing after a few minutes game play. Now getting Uplay synchronisation error messages. So - I'm wondering - is the culprit Uplay rather than the game itself?

I am thinking it may well be that Uplay is the issue, I would like to see what it is like without the automatic connect to their servers as I only want solo play right now.

I don't think we can play offline on this game?? I tried - set myself as offline in Uplay - and actually got 15 mins of game play before the game shut down saying it couldn't connect to Uplay.

For me it freezes and doesn't unfreeze then goes to desktop and I can't do anything so I have to close it through task manager.

funny that ubi seems to think there game is okay and it is something else when so many seem to have the same problem, too bad I cannot get a refund from steam
