Game stop showing up on Remote Play
Per title.
I have the game installed on a windows 10 laptop. It has Ubisoft Connect open. The client (Linux) as of 2 days ago, was able to start Remote Play and stream the game from the laptop. This no longer works...The Linux client doesn't see the game as being installed on the laptop...I don't know what gives.

If I were to login to the client and host as a different user (who also owns the game), then the Remote Play shows up. ?!?!?

Help please???

Hey Muffinman,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you here and to see you're having issues.

Could we please know more about your setup here?

Are you running the game via a Windows 10 Laptop PC - and are unable to use Remote Play via a sperate Linux Device?

May we please know what this Linux device is? Another PC or laptop?

Is Ghost Recon: Wildlands the only game in your library that's missing?

And are you signed into the same Steam / Ubisoft account on both machines?

Let me be more clear

1/ Ghost Recon Wildlands is only installed on a Windows 10 Laptop PC
2/ Remote Play doesn't show up on Linux Steam client PC (Fedora 36). The title is not detected as being installed in #1.
3/ All other titles in my library shows up for Remote Play for the Linux Steam client PC that are also installed on the Windows 10 Laptop PC. Popular titles such as Terraria, Unrailed, Oxygen Not Included, your own Anno 2070, 2250, 1800...
4/ Yes, I run the game on Windows 10 Laptop PC but can not Remote Play via a separate Linux PC
5/ Ubisoft Connect is only signed in on the Windows 10 Laptop PC.
6/ If I sign into Steam via another account on both #1 and #2, Ghost Recon Wildland shows up for Remote Play on #2....?!??!

Thanks for this Muffinman.

We don't support Linux currently, but we'll still do what we can to get you running.

Are all of your Ubisoft titles not visible via Remote Play?

Or only Wildlands and the Anno series?

Hello, I'm not asking for support on Linux. I know the title isn't supported on Linux. It's the Remote Play that I'm asking for help. This feature is a Steam client thing. I once again stress that I'm not playing the game on Linux but playing it on Windows. The Remote Play is a feature that allows me to stream the game to my Linux desktop.

Only Wildlands doesn't show up for Remote Play. This is the strange part.

The Anno series show up because they are registered as installed in Steam on the Windows 10 laptop by Steam on the Linux desktop. Indeed all of the Anno series show up.

Because Wildland is an Ubisoft title, Valve doesn't support issues with it and points me to you instead.

Hey,

Just wondered if you have Ghost Recon Wildlands installed to the same location as you do the Anno games? If not, can you try installing it there and see if that helps make it show?

What? They are installed by Steam, of course they are all in the same stream library folder. I only have one steam library location on the Laptop. I don't think we're chasing the right avenue.

Sorry for the delay Muffinman.

Do both Steam accounts own their own separate copy of the game? With their own Ubisoft Account linked respectively?

I'm afraid that as Remote Play is a Steam feature - we're very limited in the assistance we can offer here and it's not something our team would be able to look into, as we don't have any control over Remote Play's functions.

If you are referring to Remote Play working when I switch steam account, then yes. Both steam accounts own their own copy of the game. The fact that Remote Play shows up for the game when both machines are signed in to one account while not showing up for another account makes no sense...There's no change other than account change...

I'm quite disgusted with the ping pong of support. Steam refers all issues to you all because the support for the title is incumbent with the publisher of the title. While it's true that Remote Play is a feature of Steam, I highly doubt the qualified personnel on your support team are clueless when it comes to Steam and its functionality? There are avenues and channels that you guys can approach among developer to developer, i.e. Ubisoft <-> Steam, that a consumer like I can not. On the side of Steam, Remote Play support is terrible as well (ticket HT-5656-72R9-HTTQ)

Thus far, nobody has a clue or even want to put skin in the "game," pun intended. Nobody yet even proffer up a theory of what could be causing the issue...It's all just hand waving, throwing things up in the air, and vague non-answers... =/

Hey Muffinman,

We did run this by the team and as the issue relates to the Remote Play function rather than the game itself - it isn't something they have any influence over so in this instance we would advise reaching back out to Steam as we would not be able to verify why this works in one situation and not the other.

We appreciate this isn't the response you were hoping for, but we're unable to assist further with Remote Play queries.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused by this.
