I can't claim a free dlc

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon® Wildlands - Fallen Ghosts is free until 11 Oct but i can't claim it.

I don't see the icon by your name indicating you own the base game ... Which is the requirement for claiming the free dlc.

Hey razvanab!

I've removed my previous post as a correction since I misunderstood, sorry about that! I can see the DLC is also free on the Steam Store.

If you're attempting to redeem it on Steam, as StickyPawz has rightly noted the base game is required via Steam too to be able to access the DLC.

If you instead own the base game via Ubisoft Connect, please go to the Giveaway Site[register.ubisoft.com] to claim the Fallen Ghosts DLC there instead and it'll be added to your Ubisoft Connect library.

The claiming scheme does not work from Ubi launcher and from Steam store page. The only way how I was able to claim the DLCs is the nearby post on the forum titled "20 years GR" - OP has linked the store page and it has the button "Add to account" (unlike the actual store page)

Steam doesn't usually let you get around not owning the base game.
The Epic Games Launcher let me claim it without owning the base game.
It had the warning at checkout that I didn't own the prerequisite, but I completed the $0
checkout anyway, and claim was successful.

For me, I bought Wildlands through Steam in 2019. Now that I saw the free DLC announcement, I tried to get the DLC through Ubisoft Store, EVEN through the giveaway page. No luck on both ends, so seems like the Steam version of the game is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ unless I get the DLC through Steam. Knowing Steam they´ll never let it go free, so I´m kinda screwed.

Edit: Well ♥♥♥♥, they actually are giving the DLC away for free......Might aswell try to get it from Steam then.

No matter where you bought the game from Steam or Epic, the game will automatically be added to the Ubisoft launcher under the games tab. See if you can claim it in the game itself. If you have Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you can claim a free dlc from within the game too.

Glad it worked.. you´re right, the Wildlands Steampage is a bit shy about it.

Yes, that is ideal ..but for Steam it´s best to use the direct link to "add to library"
