When you say that you have to set up the microphone again every time in control panel, what do you mean by that?
Has the game always done this, or are there times when you've been able to play without it tinkering on with settings?

Thanks for the response and passion behind YuGiOh! Ha. The game has always done this since I first launched the game. To answer your first question, I would need to go to Control Panel > Speech Recognition > Set Up Microphone, and select 'Headset Microphone'. This would prompt me to speak a line or 2 to check my mic and right after I spoke a few words, my mic would start working again.
When I first launched the game, within the first 60 seconds of me launching it and getting to the title, my mic would immediately go quiet. I could have my mic right in my mouth yelling and it would sound like I'm across the room. Using the above method, it would fix it. BUT, if I ever disconnected from a friends game, and joined back, or went through loading screens loading into with friends, it would immediately revert.
This is the only game I have experienced this issue with, so I am unsure what could be the cause behind this.
Thanks for the quick response
Or is it only happening when Discord is open?

You can disable this on in your system Sound settings, right click on the input device selecting Properties > Advanced > Untick 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'

I'm pleased to see you're back up and running :)
Remember, if you put your heart in the game, there's nothing you can't do.
I'll stop with the Yu-Gi-Oh quotes now

This is STILL an issue, both me and my friends had it happen to us just now and both our voice chat in discord is not working and there's literally nothing that fixes it, how is this even a thing? me turning of VC from open to closed in wildlands shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with my voice settings on the pc or discord?
yes it is MOST DEFINITELY THE GAME, this is what we call spaghetti code. A game shouldnt intervene like that with your whole sound system just beacuse you decide to turn of VOIP ingame wtf.
I have never under my 30 years on this planet encountered where a game ♥♥♥♥♥ your discord up beacuse you turn something off ingame...
