Mic issues
I have about 20 hours into this game, but every time I load into the game, my mic in discord cuts out immediately and becomes extremely quiet. I do not have an overlay on in discord, my mic settings have never changed in discord, and all settings in game are what they should be for me to use my mic. The ONLY way to fix my mic and get it working again fully is to go to Control Panel and have to 'Set Up Microphone' every time. This has become quite a nuisance and I do not know why it keeps happening.

I made a reddit thread on this issue and never saw any response to the issue. No other game I have causes this issue and happened within the first 60 seconds of the first time I launched the game and happens only when I launch Wildlands. Any input would be greatly appreciated

Hey Its Time To DuDuDuDuDuDuDuDuuuuueeelies! (I'm sitting here eagerly waiting on the YuGiOh release on Switch)

When you say that you have to set up the microphone again every time in control panel, what do you mean by that?
Has the game always done this, or are there times when you've been able to play without it tinkering on with settings?

Thanks for the response and passion behind YuGiOh! Ha. The game has always done this since I first launched the game. To answer your first question, I would need to go to Control Panel > Speech Recognition > Set Up Microphone, and select 'Headset Microphone'. This would prompt me to speak a line or 2 to check my mic and right after I spoke a few words, my mic would start working again.

When I first launched the game, within the first 60 seconds of me launching it and getting to the title, my mic would immediately go quiet. I could have my mic right in my mouth yelling and it would sound like I'm across the room. Using the above method, it would fix it. BUT, if I ever disconnected from a friends game, and joined back, or went through loading screens loading into with friends, it would immediately revert.

This is the only game I have experienced this issue with, so I am unsure what could be the cause behind this.

Thanks for the quick response

If you join and play a game without Discord open, does this also change settings?
Or is it only happening when Discord is open?

- Ubisoft Support
It only seems to happen when discord is open.

Out of curiosity, if you activate the discord overlay, does it still happen?

- Ubisoft Support
The discord overlay was already active. I deactivated it and it seemed to of fixed the issue though! I'm guessing there might be some issue with discord and the game working properly with an overlay.

Thanks for the follow up and update! This might be caused by apps taking exclusive control of your input devices.

You can disable this on in your system Sound settings, right click on the input device selecting Properties > Advanced > Untick 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device'

Thank you both for your responses on this issue!

I'm pleased to see you're back up and running :)

I refuse to use Discrap. As they keep adding more and more useless crap on it eating up more and more resources. In fact the game has VOIP, use it. Even steam VOIP uses alot less. I prefer skype, it has alot less crap on it. and has the best audio of any VOIP. And how large of files you can share with it. There is no better VOIP.
The in-game voip microphone also stops working. Have also tried different voip, they also have the same problem. The only thing that would help would be a windows reset, but you don't want to do that when all other games work as they should

This is STILL an issue, both me and my friends had it happen to us just now and both our voice chat in discord is not working and there's literally nothing that fixes it, how is this even a thing? me turning of VC from open to closed in wildlands shouldn't have ANYTHING to do with my voice settings on the pc or discord?

yes it is MOST DEFINITELY THE GAME, this is what we call spaghetti code. A game shouldnt intervene like that with your whole sound system just beacuse you decide to turn of VOIP ingame wtf.

I have never under my 30 years on this planet encountered where a game ♥♥♥♥♥ your discord up beacuse you turn something off ingame...
