Ghost Mode's Perma death
I like the restrictions this game mode provides, but the idea of lossing hours of progress if things go wrong scary thought, how much more difficult is it over regular campaing? I'm playing on Extreme difficuty where the AI does most of the heavy lifting when stealth fails, Is Ghost Mode gamemode worth it even when you mess up?

Its for the experienced. It does not require overwhelming skills, rather a bit of tactical, risk, cheat and bug assessments associated with every mission. Naturally you'd want to do the missions where you'll mess it up(or, the game sabotages you), in the very beginning of your ghost mode campaign(like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ watchman or, silent spade). I do not know how much you've played the main campaign, but you can try that if you're willing to kill time in your retirement. People often prefers sniping and all that. Try the most difficult regions first and go to Media Luna, have some Llama and RIP. Good Luck!

It's only more difficult because of the 1 life and 1 main. The campaign itself is the same.

Ghost mode is the ultimate test. You only want to play this when you know the game by heart and got a decent strategy.
First time I tried ghost mode was killed because team mate refused to revive. Just sat there for 25 seconds doing nothing, because terrain prevented it. After that completed it on all 3 slots and never had an issue with that. Just make sure they can always reach you in case they need to revive. Funny enough was only downed 2 times by ultra fast cars, not during any of the missions and gunfights.

If you're playing on extreme (not worth it in ghost mode), be prepared and adjust for some nasty bugs. You can do all missions on advanced and finish tier 1 by picking a few specific missions to get it done. But when killed it's over ... restart from scratch. If you don't mind the progress ghost mode can be a fun survival mode, sort of, unless Unidad gets angry.

It can help you develop more sound tactics. You want to minimize the risk of getting killed so you tend to account for more things in order to prevent that from happening, and you will gain a greater knowledge of the game in the process. I would only do ghost mode if you are already comfortable with playing the game normally, dying is a rarity for you, and you have finished the game at least once. You can still get the extra down from the skill tree so you can be downed 2x instead of just 1x.
I start each map by grabbing a chopper and uncovering all of the map, stopping only to grab the "Rebel Spotting" drops, then fast travel from town to town picking up intel and skill points. Next is grabbing a few supply convoys, letting the AI squad do most of the work.
Then I've got some skills up and a few levels under my belt before I start taking on the mission engagements.
I had got all the toys from the "Prestige crates" before I tried Ghost mode, so that makes it easier too.
I unfortanatly died to my own mine 11+ hours in, atleast got 4 low skull bosses, R.I.P to my first tactical op ghost mode soldier, atleast i was lucky enough to get heli with rockets in my first opened creates that heli made some mission realy easy.

You can fudge it on PC too, with copy/paste save files.
