Maybe... it might be... by the the greatest of coincidences, only a new language translation (like indonesian on a I don-t-remember-which-game this weekend) to justify they are doing something needing an update, after all these years...

If you haven't updated yet, you can copy your existing game folder somewhere, update, then afterwards delete the original folder and replace it with your copy. Steam will think you updated and won't bug you about it again.
