Try Call of Duty. But COD focuses on the arcade side too much. like the damage system(health recovery even at veteran), and poorly implemented cover peek fire system(unlike Wildlands). I don't like this about COD anymore(I liked it previously as a kiddo). The last thing is its price, it's always overpriced in stores.

If you see the positive side of the platform, for me they are,

Character design :
1. Simon Riley.
2. Makarov.

Story :
The main reason. If you like story games, you'll like it very much. WW3 plot. And mysterious moments with Ghost(Simon Riley) until he dies(which might not be the case this time).

Graphics :
PC burning.

Gameplay :
COD has implemented a weapon response system that feels smoother than other games. It might be because of its simple behavior, lower recoil degrees of freedom, mobility etc.

Multiplayer :
Many people try COD because of this. But imao, for me it'll be forever CS 1.6. Cuz you don't get the force on your side if you play COD. -- "The force will be with ya, always".

I like the above traits but I don't like denuvo-operated applications(at least some of its properties). I bought Wildlands/Breakpoint anyway cuz they weren't gonna take it out of the game.

Some other suggestions that'll give you the ambiance as well as hardcore tactical gameplay(within limits). Truthfully you'll never find anything like Wildlands.

1. Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1 and 2(fps).
2. Breakpoint(tps).
3. Arma(simulation based).

RMJ Im disappointed. You have failed to mention here how many hours you have in this game. You never seem to miss the opportunity. Im also wondering whether you are "throughing" or "throwing" darts. Confused.

I certainly don't intend to be confrontational at all, but your input/rant here serves no purpose as an intended answer to my original question which, simply put is, is there anything that compares in gaming experience to Wildlands into which I have invested several hours and have mentioned so above if not only to highlight that perhaps it may be time to pursue a new game in a similar vein and thus reached out to the community for some reasonable, rant less answers. And no I'm not asking about Breakpoint as I'm already about a 100 hours in

Try The Division 2 (and the 1st one). I Started Wildlands as a Div 2 player looking for something similar but different (just like you ;) I know that both titles have a large overlap in fanbase but it is very similar in controls. It's 3rd person with builds expansive endgame and endlessly repayable.
It is a bit more fast paced and there is little to no stealth but the gameplay and controls are second to none. If you are used to playing wildlands the learning curve for the controls is almost nonexistant as they share most of the same button mapping. I play w a dualsense controller/steam deck with gyro aiming if that matters at all.

Mr.X Thank you! I lost you at the end there with the dual sense/gyro controller deck thingy"s but I will heed your advice and check it out
Thnx again

Good question. I’ve been enjoying this recently. My first run (did a bit of co op earlier) on my own and decided to go with ghost mode. I’m feeling nostalgic and remember playing Navy Seals SOCOM 2 on the PS2. No suggestion. Just that nostalgia.

MrX on your advice, I went to check out The Division 1 in the Steam store and they have a free download for 6 hrs of game play. Should be a fair introduction to something new. What do you think
And thnx to you other guys who chipped in too

Try scum

I dare not try it. I doubt it tastes any good

As advised, checked out Scum. Interesting. Multiplayer only? Im a single player. Too many Rambo types in co-op looking for a means to unleash their inner demon

Yeah this'll def give you a firm impression of the game. Save carries over if you end up buying it too.

It goes on sale all the time so pick it up cheap when you can.
Check out Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain. I felt Wildlands was trying to mimic it's game play and while they made a pretty solid attempt, Metal Gear Solid V to me still was way way more fun and interesting. Don't get me wrong Wildlands I had an absolute blast with still especially in coop and I love the world they created for it. But the whole time my friends and I played we all kept saying, "This makes me wish Metal Gear Solid V had coop." Reason being Wildlands the stealth just felt tacked on almost it's like one dude spots you suddenly everyone just knew, camouflage was just cosmetic and lastly it lacks the rather crazy creativity that MGSV had with how to approach bases and how take out enemies or recruit them. In MGSV I loved that I could setup a decoy to then have soldiers gather around to investigate only to then set off a weapon drop which would drop on their head and knock them out. You can get spotted run into a base and hide under a box sometimes getting away with it. The coolest part of the game though is your the leader of a mercenary group which you have a base on an off sea oil rig. Your encouraged to "recruit" soldiers (meaning knock out enemy soldiers and force them to join you) on the battlefield rather than just kill, kill, kill doing that you slowly build up your own army and expand the base which you can visit and interact with the soldiers recruited. By doing this you end up creating an R&D team which will then allow you to make new vehicles, weapons and some rather scifi kinda stuff I won't spoil late game. The timeline is set in the 1984 when the Soviets invaded Afghanistan and mixes real world events with some scifi elements to it.

I really wouldn't compare Wildlands to COD. ARMA is a much better comparison, but it's like Wildlands if Wildlands was... neurotic. The only game I've found that comes even close to Wildlands is Breakpoint, and I was pretty disappointed by it. I'm not sure why they went so heavy on the sci-fi. The big giant robot thing is so played out, as is the whole "EvilCorp, Doing Corporate Stuff Evilly" bit.
