List of good SMGs for quiet base clearing
Hi people,

I just started a new campaign, and practicing taking down every base quietly in Itacua.
My two weapons are P416 with suppressor, and G28 with suppressor.

I was sneaking by the Armadillo base in Itacua, where you are supposed to interrogate the commander. I was getting from the road to the side entrance, and there was a bunker right before the side entrance. At first the soldier inside was by the sole window facing the road, but then he moved to the right, so stood in a corner. I approached the window as closely as possible to see him at an angle, and I saw his back while scoped in (EXP + G33). So I shot him with the suppressed P416.

The shot was heard, and one other soldier inside was alerted. He came to check the body, and the whole base was alerted. I really dislike it when they say "A todas las unidades, commience el ataque", or "To all units, begin the attack". This usually signals that vehicles carrying Unidad soldiers, with unlimited reinforcements, are coming.

So my question is: what are good SMGs for quiet base clearing? Please give an exhaustive list of good ones. I think what happened was that the suppressed shot of the assault rifle still carried sound, so if I had a quieter SMG, the shot would not have been heard.

Also, how does the P90 perform against Unidad soldiers?
I read on reddit that P90 projectiles can go through a stack of bricks.
But is the P90 also effective against Unidad's armor?

Here's a link to the spreadsheet that should give you the info you need.

If you're really gonna take down an enemy at almost point blank range without alerting all his buddies in the close proximity, nothing beats a suppressed pistol.

Another important factor is that you also need to be aware of the bullet impact position. Enemies don't just react to the actual gun noise but the noise of basically anything outta ordinary. That means a shattered window, a body hitting the ground, or a bullet hitting whatever that is near him. This means a high penetration or high RPM weapon may not be the best weapons to stealth clear an enemy base, unless you put it on semi-auto mode but defeats the purpose of the high RPM.

The first thing to understand about the gun stats in the loadout menu, they are a rough guideline. They do lie. The quietest smg in the game is actually the PSG 9mm subgun. It even beats the Honey Badger by a few meters of detection distance while firing inside a base. The gun can be found in the ammo bunker at the El Pozolero mission area. With a long barrel, comp4 optic, V4 foregrip, extended 30rnd mag, suppressor, and 3-dot, it is a murder machine. You can take very reliable shots with it up to about 350m, which is well beyond the range they can hear an unsuppressed sniper rifle (about 170m), so feel free to carry that BGF50A or the SR25Jungle as a secondary for those bigger shots. I have extensively tested the guns, and I can say the PSG 9mm is even a touch quieter then the quietest pistol in the game (P12). I often have people I'm playing with say they see a sniper die from 300m out, and all they hear is a shell casing hit the ground :) With the advanced suppressor perk and damage level 30 on the gun, it gets even better, hitting more like the MK18 assault rifle. If you also need the quietest guns for other slots, the MK14 Occult is the most silent sniper, and of course, the crossbow. As long as your skills are maxed out, I find the PSG needs about 27m of distance to be safe. Sometimes they will get suspicious. I have fired it within 10m of enemies before with no detection. The fire rate is just enough you can tap out single shots without changing your trigger, but fast enough to burn a magazine into a passing Unidad truck in about 1.5 seconds. Compared to the fire rates of the Vector or the Skorpion Evo, while fun guns in their own right, you will find yourself popping loose a 2 or 3 round burst on accident, greatly increasing the odds of detection. If you do prefer the Honey Badger or the MP5, they are the next quietest. I would stay at least 30m away from any set of ears with them reliably. The guns in the game, however, are nothing like real life. Guns like the P90 or the MP7 are shooting basically small rifle rounds at very high velocities to punch through body armor and for allowing higher quantities of rounds to be carried. In Wildlands, the MP7 isn't that great, and the P90 is also lackluster. The mark of any weapon being a "keeper", is to go to MOB Jaguar, walk up to the front gate, and ask to borrow a cup of sugar. If your gun keeps you alive, it's decent. If it seems like you brought an airsoft rifle to a real gunfight, ditch it.
strongly suggested to check my remarks + Ranking :brawler:

If you don´t play @Tier01 it doesn´t matter much, but if you play at the elite level AND can manage to play stealthy.. farm to get top SMGs + Handguns maxed.
With "VectorSpectra" (special SMG - very hard to get) I play without Sniper Rifle as you can do secure 250-300m shots and the 5.7 USG (HDG) is almost overpowered against anything below 80-130m. Have fun :grwskull:

PS: I´m doing 60-70% Headshots, your mileage my vary, but reading the Guides will improve your Playstyle
-> Mastering Noise and Detection Range (check ->Quick Start Guide) is half your success.

Which one is quieter, between Honey Badger and MP5?
And more importantly, which one has a closer grouping of rounds, when firing a burst of 3-5 rounds?
Also, I saw the Honey Badger on sale in the in-game Store. Is that the only way of getting it?

Good question. Both guns are so close it's hard to tell as far as quiet is concerned. I would guess the Honey Badger takes it, but maybe by a hair. But if it's firing a controlled burst, I would go with the Honey Badger all the way. The Badger is a bit more stable in 2 or 3 round bursts with the same attachments. On a full auto burn, just mag dumping it, I would chose the MP5. The Badger gets a little unrefined and crazy:) If I were to chose a gun specifically for burst and full auto fire with close engagements, it would actually be the skorpion evo 3.
There are other ways to get the guns, almost all of them, anyways. Do those daily challenges! When you do the dailies, you earn 800 credits every 24 hours, and that is enough to buy 2 prestige crates in the store. If you do them 2 days in a week, you get an extra few crates. If you do the dailies 5 times in a week, you get an extra 5 crates. And every 20th crate you unlock, you get a free Spec Crate.
Also, when you open a prestige crate, if it is a duplicate item(something you already have), you will get blue points instead. 400 blue points can buy a spec crate, or you can buy weapons and gear from the store. This is how I recommend getting the stuff instead of real money. It adds a new element to the game, it will have you in co-op getting help on some challenges, and you will quickly learn 20 ways to do every mission in the game.
I would also recommend the fallen ghosts dlc for guns that are useful. The Honey Badger I believe I got with the year 2 pass, but it is in the store for blue points. The Fallen ghosts dlc gets you weapons like the BFG50A, the BFG Extranjeros(longest shooter in game, 3KM+), and the SR25 Jungle. The Jungle is like the American Express Card of Bolivia, you don't leave home without it, and even Unidad will give you instant unlimited credit when you pull it out:)
So the SR25 Jungle is better than the G28?
Can you add a suppressor to it?
Question: you know how Ubisoft says that Wildlands will be offline permanently soon in the future? Does that mean that the WIldlands store will also be permanently offline, so that you can no longer buy weapons with ghost coins in the future, so that you have to hurry now, as soon as possible?

Who's saying 'soon in the future' for Wildlands exactly?

They never said that, they're shutting down very old game servers, like R6 Vegas 1/2, etc.
