Is it Worth it to Get the Ultimate Edition?
Is it worth the $36 price tag for the Ultimate Edition? Or is it better to just get the $15 dollar version and get the content later?

So its like pay 2 win sorta?

Well kinda, sorta. One of the year passes gives you missions in another province, if you don't have that and play with someone who does you cannot be on the missions with them. That said, they are kinda samey. I bought the ultimate edition (may not still be sold) and I now start every character with the most excellent assault rifle: MDR. That said, it is not hard to go get a nearly equal ACR or TAR 21 from an area with enemies. Also, it gave me the DesertTech HTI which, only when fully upgraded, is by far the most OP sniper rifle in the game (otherwise the plain HTI is the most powerful/penetrative with excellent range and accuracy).

The other year pass just gives you more crates to open, RNG chance for great vehicles and cosmetic stuff.

But I am not even counting the other DLCs here, bc I don't care about them. The "Narco Road" is just a driving game, good but not good enough to keep you interested for years like the base game. The "Fallen Ghosts" is only for masochists that love to die a lot, those that love to play only on the hardest difficulties and can't otherwise find a hard enough difficulty; many enemies go invisible and shoot you unfairly - unfair difficulty level.

Vanilla game + FallenGhosts DLC is enough.. everything else is close to garbage

Halloween made a good point imho. If you wonder what Gear is good and what you need to get it.. check my guide:
