Cloud Save Game
When i start the game, this message appears from the uplay launcher: "Your local save game file is not in sync with the data on the cloud. Please choose which file to use." (image 1) and offers to choose local storage or cloud storage. The problem is that I don't have local saves, but I have cloud saves from October 26, 2022. I choose cloud saving and it gives an error (image 2), help me, what should I do? I really wanted to play this game again, but I can't, and I didn't want to start everything yet at first, because I didn't pass the game last time.

Not sure what you are saying, certainly looks like you have a local save, it says so in the first image.
Cloud sync sometimes fails, going back to local save doesn't lose much progress, happened to me many times.
Anyway, I've restarted many many times, doing challenges etc. is not that big of a deal.
Always remember, if you have to start from scratch, next time you will do it better.

It appears that you do have local saved files, you should delete them to force using the ones from stream servers. Otherwise, if you do have 'Controlled Folder Access' enabled then that's blocking the game from reading and storing files in your user folder.

Back up ALL your saves! Delete the REAL ones in question. Start Game. Play till a save happens. Normally when you do a Bivouc. Restart. test. Back up these saves. Load the ones in question. Test. You may want to disable CLOUD, to test ....... This will show you the issue. Old saves no work = corupt, nothing you can do. It is a good idea to manual back up now and then. if you have such issues. Years in this game Never a save issue. I even made my own NEW GAME plus save for replays.

When I went in after downloading, I thought that there were saves both locally and in the cloud, but when I went into the game and clicked Play, I was surprised to see the creation of a character from scratch. That's exactly why it shows that there are local saves.

Sorry for the first answer, I really thought you were trying to replace your save game.

This can happen in the following scenarios too.
1. If you've played the game in offline mode, then after some progress you've switched back on the cloud saves.
2. You haven't turned off the cloud saves manually but the cloud server from Ubisoft's end was unresponsive and failed to upload your save data for some time, and you've progressed some in that window. This happened recently as most of us was having the authentication error.

If you weren't trying to replace a profile then I suggest you choose the local save. But before doing that take a backup always.

Preserve folder in this location.
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames
