extremely long game launch time
i can launch this game on my old pc (if it helps, specs for old pc, ryzen 7 5800x gpu, rx 6900 xt gpu, and the rest i cant remember right off... may or may not be helpful though) and when i click play, it is in the game within thirty seconds, on my new pc it takes 3-5 minutes to launch.
i have a z790 e gaming wifi 2 motherboard, 32 gb ram, 14900k cpu, 8 tb corsair mp 600 pro xt ssd and a 4090 msi gpu. the steps i've tried so far to fix it are, updating bios, verifying integrity of game files, reinstalling game 3 times, reinstalling windows and only installing chipset drivers and gpu drivers, reinstalling ubisoft connect, running the exe for steam, ubisoft connect and the game as administrator. i'm down to eliminating hardware issues at this point, any ideas? i doubt highly that its hardware related since it only happens on that one game, all other games i have launch very fast. also worth mentioning i've updated other motherboard drivers too.

i mean the part where you see the splash screen on the desktop, it'll sit there for 3- 5 minutes lol, I've tried everything i can think of hardware, software and o.s. related, its the weirdest thing I've ever seen. all i can figure is possibly it doesn't like the motherboard, its a pretty recent one that's been out for only a few months. I've tried to figure it out for a week now, its strange. only thing i haven't tried yet is another keyboard and mouse, extremely unlikely, but you never know with pcs lol. It's done it on a different ssd that i installed a new windows 10 to, as well as another ssd where the game is stored. both are pretty fast nvme, so it should have no trouble launching it technically... they're also both in gen 4 m.2 slots so...yeah. Ubisoft is quite the stinker currently with their games and programs... oh yeah, you mean the "updates" that everyone wants and needs that makes everything so much better, when it was working better before? lol their "updates" are a bit of a joke... sorry i'm frustrated from extensive troubleshooting. nope wasn't the mouse or keyboard...

i apoligise, i'm just venting frustration about this issue. a week with no headway is quite frustrating. i've eliminated every piece of hardware from my pc except the motherboard, memory, cpu, and gpu. i've put another ssd in and installed the game to it, even tried another ssd with a fresh windows 10 on it, i only installed gpu drivers too on that test ssd. the crazy thing is that ghost recon breakpoint and assassins creed black flag both launch quickly.

i did try turning on a compatibility legacy mode setting in the bios that supposedly will disable or put the e-cores in standby mode when you play an older game, it didnt make a difference, but i'll definitely take a look into doing what you suggested, thanks for your help! i've definitely been leaning towards a bios setting or motherboard issue, sounds very possible that its a bios setting issue.

crazy as it is my old system is all amd and stable as a rock lol, i decided to try out an nvidia based system just for fun and to see if theres any major performance increases.

i still have that system put together fully actually lol, no way i'd dismantle a perfectly functioning system. i'ts quite nice. its the aio version of the 6900 as well. and the main thing on it that was fairly oldish was the cpu, but its still rock solid. this is an entirely new one just to try out the other hardware thats out there, the 24gb capacity sounded like fun for the graphics card. its pretty nice so far other than this issue, that fixed it btw, may still need to tweak it a bit, but it took it down from about 5 minutes to launch to roughly 1 minute. thank you! gonna have to start making notes of all these bios settings lol. but thanks again for your help!!! i had actually just started reading about those stupid e cores and hyperthreading...ugh. nice to see someone on here actually has some smarts!

Loading times on older games are getting worse every month, and reason for that they are applying changes to all of their services. It doesn't matter what kind of system you have. Check your task manager when starting the game. You will see that during startup your system is running idle, doing nothing, and isn't normal.

The game is waiting for reply from UB' services that apparently have a hard time collecting all the bytes needed. When I played years ago, the session popup was never shown. This was done in the background and took only few seconds. Now your just waiting ...

I have the same issue. The game launch image jumps up and then nothing happens. The often told compatibiity mode for Windows 8 + Administrator rights did not help. 👀

This game actually has a very long near 5 minutes start time. Its probably both because of its massive map but also to sync with online services.

Not that bad really when you consider the size of the map and that there will be no more loading screens after the first one.

You ever figure this out? I'm having the EXACT same issue.

Was working perfectly on my old rig (2080ti + i5 9000 series cpu) with a 30ish second splash. Upgraded to 4090 + 14000 series and now takes literally 4/5 minutes to get past that initial splash.

I'm completely stumped.

As a side note I also gave Far Cry 3 a try, and that didn't even get past the splash screen. It just show's it infinitely. Could it be a Ubisoft thing?

Edit: Tested with Far Cry 4 and that worked fine.

I've waited for over 10 minutes and the game still does not load. Followed various tricks online still just showing startup logo. Works fine on my steam deck but not on my laptop. Break point loads with no issue so not sure what is going on there?

I get this error on every start. Pretty sure that's what's taking so long to fail.

Yes this happens to me as well. It will launch normally and stay on the splash screen for 3-5 min.
