Can't Look Around While Aiming (Wireless PS4/Xbox One Controllers)
This wasn't an issue last time I picked up the game (about half a year ago or so) but for some reason I can't aim and look around at the same time. I looked at a thread discussing this topic with a solution that didn't work (solution being going into steam controller configuration and selecting CAMERA/STICK for the right stick, but that doesn't appear for me) and am clueless on what to try next.

Don't really feel like playing on keyboard and mouse tbh, any assistance welcome. Thanks.

Same issue for me, but only when streaming via Steam Link. Works OK when playing directly on PC.

Didn't even think to try a Switch Pro Controller tbh, I don't own a Steam Controller but if its this widespread of an issue holy ♥♥♥♥ does it need to be addressed lmao.

This worked for me: Go to the game in the steam library > controller layout > edit > joysticks > the right joystick was set to "joystick", switch it to "camera stick" now I can move properly, cycle through the rest of the tabs and do the same for aiming etc.

What a bizzare thing, when I first booted the game it was fine. Didn't have a problem till the second time playing.

Bruh I just chose to uninstall it tbh, I ain't got the patience to jump through hoops just to play a game: If they can't configure controller settings the right way, it shouldn't be the users job to do so.

You're not wrong! That's exactly what I was about to do, even after getting it on sale. Thankfully the answer was a few clicks away.. still though

I use an XBOX gamepad on my PC.
I share the following steps that helped me clear up the problem. However... this method may only work for those who are using the XBOX gamepad.

Right click on Tomclancy's Ghost recon Wildlands from the library and select properties.
In the properties, there is a section called "Controllers" where you can disable "SteamInput".

In my case, every time I pressed any button, the gamepad button icon on the UI would change to the xbox one or to a generic gamepad button. In no way did the game seem to recognize what my gamepad was, and after disabling Steaminput, the game now correctly recognizes my gamepad as an xbox gamepad and works: .......
I played this game for the first time in 6 months, as did Sleuth, and I did not have this problem before. It looks like the game update hasn't hit for a while, so I think the Steam update is doing something wrong. I am thinking that the very Steaminput is suspicious.

Yea the other fix I just tried still had issues with some buttons, just turning off steam input worked like a charm and less tedious. Thanks good sir

Topic from Brevo Can't move and look around at the same time [On controller]. I found a fix though using a PS5 controller setup. Right click on Ghost Recon Wildlands and click controller.

1. In Game play set Right joystick to Camera/Stick then change nothing else.
2. In Aim mode Right Joystick behavior Camera/Stick and then R3 click for Aim mode
3. While in Aim Mode Left Joystick Behavior should be "Move" while L3 click is Sprint.

The solved the problem when playing with a PS5 controller.

I have the same problem with my mouse on the PC, when I want to look around in aim mode, it's like pressing the right mouse button in quick succession. Playing is no longer possible this way. The same symptom also occurs on the left mouse button.

this fixed my issue today in Summer Sale 2024 lol. how uterly inept of ubi not to get one new hire to spend the day setting proper configs for diff controllers customers may be using. let's face it, v few casual players are going to be playing this title with keyboard and mouse so at least set the damn controller configs correctly??? Cheers Ubisoft for making me even more certain I will not buy your games again if not for nostalgia reasons only...
