Why can't they fix the v-sync?
Why is the v-sync so broken in this game that it tanks the fps by 20 when it's turned on? When I don't have v-sync on I get 85 FPS but horrible screentearing, setting fps limit doesn't eliminate screen tearing either.

Force Vsync On in your graphics cards control panel, either only for the game or globally, maybe that works.

Doesn't work. Not only did they break their v-sync, no third party v-sync or graphics card settings work on this game, people seem to think they do but deffo you cannot do anything for this game that ubisoft has not providied, break it and then don't let people mend it, wth

Strange. For me the Vsync is working, either via GPU Driver or the game.

Turn off vsync ingame and set nvidia vsync to "fast"

You just think it does, don't worry it's been proven that GPU Driver settings have NO EFFECT ON THE GAME WHATSOEVER, Fast V-Sync doesn't work because the game doesn't recognise GPU DRIVER V-SYNC SETTINGS.

Are you sure? I think it is working, strange. Maybe I am mistaken.

Dont know what to tell ya, my game is smooth as silk, even more so with new drivers (417.34) it could very well be that fast vsync does nothing but I have had no reason to change as i have no problems.
Your problem is clearly with either hardware or settings somewhere.

you are WRONG. using vsync from the Nvidia control panel works just fine for me.

sigh, NO. you have no idea what fast sync is and you are too oblivious to even see the downsides. Nvidia has made it clear that its is for games where you have an insanely high framerate that is WAY above your refresh rate. hell Nvidia even says 3 times the refresh rate is the point where you should use fast sync. using it in games where you are only getting around 60 fps is beyond stupid as it is worse than using regular vsync.

Like i said ..smooth as silk. I have no complaints as far as performace goes and my fps si well above 60 on average.

and oblivious just like a said. it is 100% FACT that fast sync is worse than regular vsync at lower framerates. AGAIN its ONLY benefit is if you have VERY high framerates. ignorance is bliss though and if you dont notice the little hitches then it must be great to be you.

Well my moniter is capped at 60hz and frame rates are higher. I have no tearing and my turning is smooth. I do not see a problem here besides you having a problem with me lol and that fine if thats your deal have at it, no skin off my back.
My only issues wit this game are the marketing team behind it and lack of any real direction in development and refinement not so much the performance.

Fast sync from nvidia panel and vsync disable in the game works for me. In this way I have about 30-45 fps playing in 4k, and I have not lags.

lol another peson that has no clue what fast sync is for. if you are too oblivious to not notice the issues of using fast sync at low fps then you are too ignorant to be commenting on anything related to pc gaming. Tom Petersen that helped develop the tech at Nvidia made it clear what it was designed for and when not to use it. AGAIN its made for very high fps going well over your refresh rate. there is ZERO benefit to using it at lower fps and he flat out said that it will be worse than using normal vsync in those cases. go learn about and stop passing bad info just because you are oblivious.

"Fast Sync is designed to benefit games that are running with very fast native render rates (3 times or more the rate of the refresh on you monitor)"

https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4160/~/does-fast-sync-work-for-all-games%3F

EDIT: just played around in this game at 45 fps with fast sync and it was terrible looking just panning around as the screen was quite jittery.
