Tier Mode maximum difficulty vs. Extreme Ghost Mode

What is the difference? Please elaborate on some key points. It'll help me understand.

As far as I know Tier Mode on max - you die - you re-spawn, fully loaded and try again
Ghost Mode on extreme - you die - you dead, period. you go back to Itacua (after you have modelled your character) and start from mission one

Okay thanks. Is there anything which is more difficult than extreme settings? I mean if there is, can I access it via tier 1?

Again, as far as I know, Tier Mode just gets more and more extreme although your weapons can be upgraded to compensate.
I haven't explored Tier Mode much (I find it too unrealistic, but that's just me. I prefer full immersion/stealth on extreme in normal mode. I play solo, no AI team mates), but I have completed (after failing several times) Ghost Mode on normal difficulty. I spent hours and hours (yes I'm retired) . it took me almost a year. Great fun!!
PS: check out in the community forum or in this thread if you can trace it, the comprehensive stuff posted by wesp....... Hes a master at this and his input is invaluable. He has the answer to everything

Difficulty is the same, but GhostMode adds additional risk (Permadeath)
That´s why I suggest in my GhostMode-Guide NOT using Tiermode (esp. not below Tier30).. If you do, only use it for farming. Some missions can go haywire in 10 seconds
Maybe because I know how it sux when my GhostMode@Tier1-hero dies unexpectedly

With all the aggressive BS that sometimes crops up on this forum, its great to see that it is possible to have reasonable open dialogue. Wesp...... its not so much about the ''flowers'' as it is an appreciation that I and possibly many others have for the effort and the guides that you post. Even after 4 yrs and 3000+ hrs, I still find information of value and incorporate it into my catalogue of useful hints, many of which have changed the way I play this game for the better.
